Hi there! I've been working as a guide in the Atacama desert since 2009, I used to work as a driverguide for different tour agencies and some hotels in San Pedro de Atacama, so thanks to that, I know every corner of this region and every place to visit, like Geysers, Andean lagoons, Wetlands, Salt flats, landscapes that look like other planets, hypersaline lagoons where you can float effortlessly, and many others. From late 2018, I'm working independently, with my own vehicle; a Toyota 4runner 4WD, up to 4 passengers plus the driver. Now a days, I'm providing privates tours away from the crowds in different timings, fully customized, depending on the special interests the travelers may have, like Bird-watching, Photography, Wildlife, Culture, Geology, Stargazing among others. A guide is not someone that show places and give information, a guide is someone who make the link, between the place, the culture, the nature, and all what the travelers are interested on, to give the most personalized experience and filling their soul, in a real connection. I really love my job and I think I'm living the dream today, because I always thought that one day my personality, charisma, enthusiasm and love for nature, will be my tools for what I do for a living, so here I am, doing what I love, sharing with people coming from all over the world and showing one of the most beautiful and unique places on earth, The Atacama Desert. - SERNATUR (National Service of Tourism) Q Stamp of tourism quality This stamp means reliability, transparency, security, customers satisfaction and service improvements. -LGAI CHILE S.A. Leaving town to the east and taking the route to the mountains, we'll leave behind the big Atacama basin by the majestic Likancabur volcano, to discover an other world on the Andean high plateau. On the road we'll pass by the Bolivian border, we'll see their lagoons and territory on the distance, driving through the "altiplano", a vast and arid scenery, surrounded by peaks scraping 6000 meters AMSL, you'll know why this is a high desert; the lack of oxygen, the dryness, the high radiation, and very few vegetation, will show us an extraplanetary landscape comparable only with Mars, the red planet. A group of vicuñas or a lonely fox will wake you up from the martian dream. Liquid water flows from those peaks, reaching natural basins, bringing life to the desert. Flamingos, andean gulls, geese, ducks, rodents, reptiles and insects are part of a very unique and fragile ecosystem in the middle on nowhere. Be amazed by monumental natural rock formations, lagoons and more in this visit to the top of the world.
- Leaving around 08:00 am - We'll stop to see the big Atacama basin from above, by the Licancabur volcano, to take some pictures. - Driving by the Bolivian border and looking Bolivian territory from the distance. - Then we'll stop in a look out, to see a natural spring on the middle of the Andean Pampa. - Later we'll drive to the highest point 4800 meters AMSL before to visit the monks of "La Pacana" impressive rock formations spread all around. - Also some look out in front of two salt flats, "Aguas Calientes I" and "Quisquiro". -We'll drive 15 more minutes to reach the border with Argentina - We'll have lunch enjoying the landscape before to come back town. The itinerary can be customized according to your preferences and interests.
