I’ve always felt a deep connection to this special place I call home—growing up exploring rainforest trails, beachcombing along the coast, and spending time on our lakes and ocean. That love of the land and sea has been passed down through generations, with my family involved in farming, fishing, homebuilding, and the skilled trades—a proud island tradition. Before becoming a guide, I ran our family renovation business and developed a lasting passion for home design and real estate—something I still enjoy today. I’m a true nature lover and also inspired by the vibrant local scene in Victoria—from our incredible food and wine to art, boutiques, and unique local finds. I’ve always had a love for travel and connecting with people from around the world. Since 2015, I’ve been sharing Victoria and Vancouver Island through thoughtfully paced, comfortable, and truly local private tours. On this adventure we'll take a scenic sea to sky drive to experience the spectacular Malahat Skywalk. You will experience breathtaking 360 degree views of nature from the 10 story elevated walkway and spiral tower. Option to slide back down fun for all ages or leisurely stroll. Our next stop will take us to the historic Hatley Castle view from outside and its exquisite gardens. Then a stop at a local favourite beach and stroll amongst driftwood art. Option to enjoy a short mild hike through the forest amongst the towering trees. As we get back to the city, enjoy a leisurely stroll around the Inner Harbour while looking at the spectacular Parliament Building and historic Empress Hotel. We'll tour through Canada's oldest Chinatown and colourful Fisherman's Wharf. I look forward to taking you on a private tour to remember for years!
What an incredible day! Melanie was fabulous! She worked with me in advance to design a day that fit the needs of my husband and me. She booked a spectacular restaurant for lunch and wine tasting for us. The entire day was so amazing! I highly recommend planning a tour with Melanie!
We were lucky to book with Melanie for a second time in the beginning of March when we visited Victoria on a 1 day layover on our cruise. We did quick tour of town and the wharf area before heading to the Malahat Skywalk. She customized our tour and made suggestions for us and was flexible to accommodate extra places we wanted to see. She was knowledgeable, easygoing, warm, and provided excellent recommendations based on our interests. Her vehicle was spotless, and her driving was excellent. Melanie also accommodated the members of our group who are less ambulatory seamlessly. If we are ever in Victoria again, we'll be looking to take another tour with her!
Melanie was great about suggesting some new things to see in Victoria (as we'd been before and already seen things like Butchart Gardens). It was just my wife and I, and she was VERY accommodating and also came up with suggestions on the fly as we were driving and talking. Her knowledge of the area was very strong as well as her passion for her home. We had a very nice time, and would not hesitate to recommend Melanie.
