My background is in Photography and Fine Art, so my tours have a fun, creative edge, and I can take you to some of Toronto's more interesting, off-the-beaten-track neighborhoods. I also do specialist art tours and foodie tours, where I will take you around some of Toronto's greatest art galleries (including the Art Gallery of Ontario, where I am a Gallery Guide), or for foodie tours, taking you into shops selling gourmet delights and local specialties, some of which are completely unique to Toronto. Overview of your Toronto tour
This tour will include a visit to one of Toronto's major landmarks, the Frank Gehry-transformed Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) and also surrounding galleries in the area. The tour begins with a highlights tour of the AGO's many collections and its architectural history, including the Thomson Canadian and European collections, the new contemporary wing, and any of the featured exhibitions included in the general admission price. We will then visit the small galleries across from the AGO where there are both local and international contemporary artists within the charming Victorian buildings. I am an experienced art and culture tour guide and enjoy engaging people in artful conversations. I would love to show visitors a taste of Toronto's amazing art collections and one of Canada's architectural gems!
Your Toronto tour itinerary
Meeting at the entrance of the Art Gallery of Ontario, we will spend around 1. 5-2 hours exploring the many collections within one of Canada's most prestigious art galleries and its only Frank Gehry designed building. The collections include Canadian, European and African galleries with many special exhibitions (changing all the time) which may include photography, sculpture or installation. We can also explore some of the smaller galleries surrounding the AGO on Dundas St. The tour will finish at the same location which is handy for both subway and streetcar (tram).
