The province of Ontario is more than Toronto and Niagara Falls. An hour west of Toronto, in the country side, Mennonite communities like St. Jacobs, Aylmer and St. Anns follow traditions and maintaining their cultures with their traditional lifestyle and colourful vibrant Framers markets. During this tour we visit some local homesteads, pick your fruit fresh and taste the local produce while exploring the rich and deep rooted culture of the Mennonite communities. In the afternoon we visit the Elora gorge and other natural little wonders in the surroundings before heading back into the city of Toronto. This tour is informative, family orientated and rich in culture and history. explore the unknown and often hidden part of Ontario and enjoy the splendor of the Canadian country side
We depart in the morning from your hotel to drive west towards Kitchener and Waterloo. Here we visit the St. Jacobs market. This is the largest framers market in Ontario and you have a possibility to buy your fruit and other produce straight from the Mennonite community. A simple stroll along the stall is certainly worth a visit. From here we visit the Mennonite village of St. Jacobs. Conestogo and West Montrose before heading towards the Elora gorge. After a short walk along the gorge we make our way through the country side back to Toronto. This is a cultural rich, informative and fun tour and a great opportunity to learn about the culture and history of the Mennonites in Ontario
