Toronto has everything. You just need to know where to look. Hi, I’m Alex, also known as BeardedProf416. I uncover the stories, hidden corners, and unexpected connections that most people walk right past. I’m a college professor and a university researcher teaching tourism, hospitality, and storytelling, with over 18 years of experience working with organizations like the Toronto International Film Festival, Lonely Planet, Jane’s Walk, and many cultural institutions across the city. I hold a Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management (honors) and a Master’s degree in Digital Media, where I explored how stories, public spaces, and social media shape how we experience urban environments. My tours go beyond history and landmarks. They are about seeing Toronto differently, with its hidden details, forgotten stories, local food, public art, and layers of emotion. The kinds of things that turn a few hours into something memorable. I was born in a country that no longer exists, grew up between cultures, professionally straddling several industries, and built my life in Toronto. In many ways, that makes me a perfect Torontonian. I understand this city through movement, identity, and connection, and I love helping others experience it that way too. I also smoke cigars, collect pins, ride motorcycles, eat a lot of food, and chase great stories wherever they appear. Somehow, all of that ends up shaping my tours and my life overall. If you only have a few hours in Toronto, I will help you experience the city and not just visit it. All tours are walking-based. Transportation can be arranged in advance. Let’s explore.

This is an ALL DAY, fully sustainable and walking experience around Toronto. You will get the full experience of truly feeling the vibe of the city in all its glory. We'll stop for some food and snacks along the way as well. Going from the origins of the city, through the remnants of history in the architectural sense and where the future is going. We will end up at Greektown and check out the lesser known side of Toronto from the East End.
We'll start at Fort York, an enclave of history and nature in a middle of a bustling city. We'll talk about the origins of Toronto and Canada. From there, we'll hit up a few parks along the waterfront, find out what a "beaver tail" is and see the CN Tower up close. From there, we will head out to St. Lawrence Market, first post office and Distillery District. Then we will hop on the streetcar to hang out on the east end by the park, oldest cemetery and GreekTown. Then we will head back to the west side on a subway to finish up at Kensington Market.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
This is mostly a walking experience, but we incorporate a streetcar and a subway ride into the route.
