Welcome to Manaus city tour! o/ Did you know that the name of the city comes from a native extinct tribe called "Manaós"? Manaus has gained worldwide prominence when the exploration of latex (Rubber cycle) enabled large investments such as the construction of luxurious buildings, the implementation of trams, the privilege to be the first city with electricity and telephone, hence the old nickname of Paris of the Tropics. The port of Manaus located in the coast of Rio Negro river was the beginning of the colonization process. Nowadays it continues to be a great identity for our people. Downtown of Manaus is covered by history, development, luxury, mystery, simplicity and complexity of a people that receives everybody with the heart open.
