"Lai Penang Chiak Hong" is a Penang local Chinese "Hokkien" dialect of saying "Come to Penang for Holiday" I was born in the early 70's, a local "Hokkien" Malaysian Chinese, a history enthusiastic and I like reading history related books. I enjoy outdoor activities and I love our tasty Penang street food. I am funny and a down to earth person and I love guiding because I love to share my personal and family history, how and why my great great grandfather left China and came to South East Asia to look for greener pasture more than 150 years ago. I love animals, so much so that I am also a professional dog trainer. I love my country and I love Penang, let me show you how we Malaysians which are made up from multiple races living in harmony next to each others. Let me guide you in Penang and I shall show you the best of Penang, the histories, the stories, the cultures, the colors, the tastes, the smells, the fun and the list goes on and on. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I am a licensed City Guide

We had an amazing tour with David, his knowledge was great and helped us learn so much more than if we had done this on our own. When you break down the cost of using someone like David against the over priced, overcrowded and underdelivering cruise ship tours, the value of tours like this...
David Chew was an excellent guide to Penang, a city with a fascinating history. David's English is excellent and our day with him was filled with wonderful sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Penang. Our favorite part of the tour was the Pinang Peranakan Mansion ... an incredible display of 19th century wealth and power. We'd highly recommend David Chew for your tour.
David was an excellent guide. He was early to the meeting location with a clean car ready tot ake us on our adventure. We really enjoyed the boat ride out to turtle and then monkey beach. Though advisable to wear flip flops, they are not great for walking into the forest. Lush greenery and interesting markers along the way. Drive was enjoyable and David showed his many...
It would not be appropriate for me to write a review on this tour as it did not take place. Unfortunately the day before, our tour guide informed us that the water levels were too low for the boat transfer to operate safely. Whilst this was disappointing for us all, we were able to undertake a Historical tour of George Town and made the most of our time in Penang
