As a child growing up in Beirut during the civil war, I used to watch in awe as the city's landmarks were destroyed and then restored over time. It was a fascinating experience to witness the resilience of the people of Beirut and their determination to rebuild their city.

Today, Beirut boasts an impressive array of landmarks that serve as a testament to its rich history and culture. From the iconic Pigeon Rocks to the historic Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque, there is no shortage of sights to see in this vibrant city. The restored downtown area is particularly impressive, with its elegant French architecture and bustling streets filled with shops and restaurants.

As a child, I had the opportunity to visit Baalbek with my school and was immediately struck by the site's magnificence. The massive stone blocks and intricate architecture of the ancient Roman temples left me in awe and sparked a deep curiosity to learn more about the site.

From that moment, I became fascinated with the history and significance of Baalbek, and my interest only grew as I delved deeper into the subject. The experience of visiting Baalbek as a child has stayed with me throughout my life, inspiring a lifelong passion for ancient history and architecture.

Baalbeck is a city in the Beqaa Valley of Lebanon, located about 85 kilometers northeast of Beirut. It is home to one of the world's most impressive ancient Roman ruins, the Baalbek temple complex, which consists of several Roman temples and structures built on top of an earlier Phoenician temple.

If you were to travel back in time to explore Jeita Grotto and Byblos, you would witness firsthand the incredible natural and cultural wonders that have made these places so beloved by visitors throughout history.

You would see the grotto as it was thousands of years ago, with its underground lakes and rivers, and the stalactites and stalagmites forming over centuries. You would also see Byblos as it was in ancient times, with its bustling port and thriving trade, and the various civilizations that have left their mark on the city over the centuries.

Our journey begins with the visit of Jeita Grotto, a series of interconnected limestone caves located in the Nahr al-Kalb valley, about 18 kilometers north of Beirut. The grotto is divided into two main sections, the upper and lower galleries, which are filled with stunning stalactites and stalagmites, underground lakes, and waterfalls. We will be enchanted by its various chambers and marvel at the natural formations.
