Born in the heart the Amazonas, I am an Amazonian Native man, a "Caboclo" (a name that means "person having copper-coloured skin" in the Tupi Indigenous Language, kaa'boc). I am a direct decendent of the Amazonian Indigenous and European peoples through my maternal grandparent's side - Indigenous coming from Andirá- Marau Reserve. a region located on the lower amazon - and from my paternal grandparent's side - a mixture of Caboclo and Portuguese. I am 50 years old and married to a lovely Brazilian woman who is not only a guide, but also a biologist - a plus for those interested in flora and fauna. I am a Official Group Leader for the American Group called Road Scholar and as a tour guide, I design custom tours specific to the needs and interests of my customers and create flexible itineraries sure to please. I only organize private tours where the customer decides the "where and the when. " These private tours can be set up for family and friends or for corporate retreats and events. This is especially convenient if you are traveling with kids, elderly, or those with special needs. Having started in the Tourism Industry in 1988, I have 25 years of experience as a tour guide and certification in First Aid and Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) at the Brazilian Red Cross. I have also successfully completed courses in water rescue and jungle search and rescue; and I also carry a professional drivers license. none
