Panphailin ("Lin") was a great guide. She was very attentive to our needs and adjusted the pace appropriately. She was the right person to immerse us in the local scene. As a chef, she provided local taste (safe to eat street food). Lin seemed to have friends everywhere. Lin navigated us through the streets of Chang Mae with grace. She provided a lot of historical reference for better understanding of the Lanna culture. We highly recommend her.

We spent a great day with Lyn on a walking tour of Chiang Mai sampling street foods and learning about local Lanna (Northern Thai) culture. It was a fascinating time understanding how the Lanna have a very different life style and cuisine from what we thought we knew about Thai cuisine. We had an excellent introduction to Thai history, the religion and temples, and how it has changed over the centuries. She is very supportive of local businesses and works hard to make one feel that they are helping the local people. We highly recommend Lyn Panphallin to introduce you to Northern Thai culture.

Lyn gave us a wonderful and interesting introduction of Chiang Mai historical culture and traditions. She showed us every aspect of the real northern Thai cuisine. We had the most amazing tasting experiences around markets and hidden food places. She never got tired of showing us yet another speciality - and we just couldn't get enough! If you are looking for an experienced and warmhearted guide to show you the secrets of Chiang Mai treat yourself to a day with Lyn!

My brother and I absolutely loved this tour. We are both "foodies" and have traveled extensively for food, and this tour met and exceeded expectations. Lyn was fabulous, informative, and made the tour the top notch experience that it was. We really enjoyed Lyn's deep knowledge of the local history and local cuisine. Highly recommend Lyn as a tour guide, and this tour is a must for any foodie.

Picking a tour guide from the short bios on the Tours By Locals site can be tricky. There's no way to know if they will know their stuff and also be someone you enjoy spending a day with. Fortunately, Lyn turned out to be both. My daughter and I learned so much about the Lanna culture and history from Lyn, and had fun exploring the markets, tasting the different foods. I would highly recommend her to anyone visiting ChiangMai.

The trip was very good. Guide Panphailin was excellent, very personal, sharing her love with her country and Chiang Mai. She adjusted the tour on our request easily. Still the lunch was disappointing for our taste. We almost did not eat anything and 3 of us had stomach issues afterwards.
