Hello, my name is Richard, and I am a licensed professional tour guide based in Chiang Mai. I have lived in Chiang Mai for nearly five decades, which has allowed me to witness the city’s transformation while maintaining a deep connection to its history, culture, and everyday life. I hold a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of New South Wales in Australia, and I bring a professional, well-organized approach to every tour I design. Over the past 10 years, I have been guiding travelers across Northern and Central Thailand, sharing not only the highlights but also the stories, traditions, and local perspectives that give each place its true character. Outside of guiding, I love driving and traveling throughout Thailand. These journeys have taken me into local communities, small villages, and lesser-known regions, where I developed a strong interest in Thai food culture and local coffee. I enjoy discovering family-run eateries, traditional markets, and regional coffee styles, and sharing these authentic experiences with my guests. My tours are private, flexible, and tailored to each guest’s interests and pace. Whether exploring Lanna history, visiting temples, mountain landscapes, villages, or enjoying food and coffee experiences, I focus on creating meaningful, relaxed, and insightful journeys. I believe the best travel experiences come from understanding people, places, and culture at a deeper level.
