Exclusive experience an adventurous day of native visiting and hiking with Karen hilltribe host at Doi Inthanon National Park the highest mountain in Thailand. The highlight of this tour is visiting the Hill Tribe Village, with joint cooking and having lunch with them. Short hiking and walk around the village will show you Karen tribe culture, life style, language, food, cooking and how to adjusting to live with the nature.
We travel a lot and this was probably one of my favorite tours ever! Lynn was such an exceptional and fun host, I recommend her to anyone! This will be the experience like no other - helping cook and eat in a friends home was the experience of a lifetime and one we will never forget. I really have no words for this ….but can guarantee you will not be disappointed!
We truly enjoyed the itinerary planned by Lyn. It is customised according to our needs. Lyn is also very knowledgeable on many aspects such as the village life, their beliefs etc. She goes out of her way to ensure that we experience the best such as providing the necessary Halal food and utensils, frequent stops for our members and giving us time to enjoy the scenery and hike. We highly recommend her for your trip!
We just returned from our holiday in Thailand.Lyn was our guide for 1 day while in Chiang Mai.She is simply amazing!Incredibly professional at all times.Her English is very good too.We are a family of 5 and she was brilliant at making sure the kids were looked after too.She is incredibly knowledgeable of the Karen tribe and everything we experienced was simply magical.I know she also teaches Thai cooking classes and if we were there for longer, I would have booked that too.I can highly recommend her.
We had such a great day with Lyn! She picked us up from the hotel and we drove about 90 mins to the National Park to learn about the Karen People and visit the village - which is located in the National Park. The indigenous people lived there BEFORE it was designated as a national park. We learned a lot about the history of Chiang Mai and cooked lunch with our host. After, we went on an amazing hike. We walked past and through rice paddies, saw beautiful scenery, and hiked alongside a gorgeous waterfall.
overall a good experience covering a really nice vide variety of trekking experiences in both Doi Inthanon and Doi Suthep national parks respectively. Although trekking was currently not Lyn's core competency she leveraged on her various contacts she has made with local Karen villages and communities and we were able to gain in-depth experiences and emerse ourselves with local culture, lifestyle and cooking techniques. 08. 30 am. - Pick up from the Chiang Mai hotel, then continue to Doi Inthanon National Park. 10. 00 am. - When we arrive the Doi Inthanon National Park, we will do hiking (for about 1-2 hours) to the Karen tribe village, hosted by the local Karen tour guide. On the way we will see the coffee plantation, rice field, flower garden, vegetable garden, native fruit, etc. that the locals grow all year around. The short hiking will show the rain forest and water fall and how the locals adjust to life in nature. After that, we will visit the Karen Tribe Village to learn how they live, their culture and life style and we will join Karen food cooking and have lunch with them in their house. After lunch we will visit the Karen coffee making center in the village and have some fresh coffee with them. There is one primary school in the village. If we have time, we will visit them also. 05. 00 pm. - Back to your hotel
