Explore Phuket your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Phuket tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Phuket for every interest, including:

Nature and Wildlife tours: Hike to Bang Pae Waterfall in Khao Phra Thaeo and visit the Gibbon Rehabilitation Project with your guide explaining the rehab work. Or spend a morning on a private tour at Phuket Elephant Sanctuary, observing rescues from a respectful distance and helping prepare their food.

Layover tours: With 4–6 hours, your guide can meet you at HKT, stroll Thalang Road’s shophouses, slurp Hokkien noodles at Lock Tien, then catch views from Khao Rang before returning you to the airport on time. Shorter layovers can focus on one area, like Old Town cafés and murals, for a stress-free private tour.

Boat tours: Cruise Phang Nga Bay by longtail to James Bond Island, paddle sea caves at Koh Hong, and stop for a seafood lunch in Koh Panyee. Prefer snorkelling? A speedboat tour to the Khai Islands or Racha Yai gets you over bright coral with calm, clear water.

Getting around: Phuket Old Town is walkable, but beaches, viewpoints, and parks are far apart and public transit is limited. You can book chauffeured tours or tours with private transportation, or ask your local guide to arrange a vehicle.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Phuket inside and out.

Day trip ideas from Phuket

From Phuket, you can swap beach time for easy day trips to islands, bays, and rainforest, and these make smooth private tours when you want a change of pace without a long drive.

Phang Nga Bay and Koh Panyee: Glide past tall limestone cliffs, paddle quiet sea caves, and step into a stilted fishing village for a simple seafood lunch, which suits you if you like calm boat time, light adventure, and a look at daily life on the water.

Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai: Cycle quiet lanes through rubber groves, stop at small beaches, and watch local craft work, so your tour leans slow and hands-on if you enjoy low-key island vibes, easy biking, and uncrowded shores.

Khao Sok National Park and Cheow Lan Lake: Ride a longtail across green water under tall rock walls, then take a short jungle walk where you might spot monkeys or hornbills, a solid choice if you like big scenery, wildlife, and a cooler escape from the coast.

Railay and Ao Nang, Krabi: Boat in for soft beaches backed by cliffs, try a beginner rock climb or a coastal cave walk, and linger for sunset before heading back, ideal if you want a mix of beach time and light activity in one day.

Phiphi Islands: Snorkel clear reefs, cruise past pocket coves, and browse a laid-back village for snacks, a classic if you are keen on boat time, easy swims, and seeing the islands you have heard about, with park rules kept in mind.

A private tour with a local guide is the best way to really get to know a place. Skip the crowds, follow your interests, and see a side of Phuket most travellers miss.
