Hi! My name is Kim, and I've been a hiking guide in this area for 30 years, probably longer than you've been alive! I think being a hiking guide is the best job in the world: the beauty of nature, super interesting people, the sun, the clouds, the scenery, and everything else that makes the Great Outdoors great. I especially love Zion National Park and I would love to show it to you, since you and I are on a "middle-name" basis. Of course, you can't be a guide for 30 years without getting to know a thing or two about this area. I've studied the geology, biology, and history of this area extensively, and I want to share it with you, along with the 300 jokes that I've memorized. I've hiked and explored Zion at least a gazillion times, and possibly 1. 5 gazillion, so I think I know the area fairly well. I've come as a guide for 2 different local destination spas, and Road Scholar (a bus/hiking tour company mostly for seniors) where I worked as the geology instructor and trail guide. Being out on the trail is what I live for and I hope you give me a chance to share all of that with you! I have all the necessary permits, insurances, licenses, etc. necessary, as well as first aid and CPR certification All guiding services are restricted to certain trails, though these happen to be the most popular trails in the park.

The beauty and wonder of Zion is hard to describe. It is incredibly beautiful, with towering mountains and colorful cliffs. The trails we have planned for your group will take you to dizzying heights (only if you want to), a chance to see a desert waterfall, and a relaxing walk up one of the deepest and most beautiful slot canyons in the world while following a picturesque stream. We can cover as many as 7 miles (or less if you prefer), at a mild to moderate pace and elevation. You will be amazed at the red, white, pink and yellow cliffs, and the absolute majesty of the 2000 foot tall Navajo sandstone mountains. The stunning beauty of Zion National Park will remain with you for the rest of your life! Ideal for groups!
We will begin the tour at 7:00 AM by meeting at the Zion National Park Visitors' Center. Guests are responsible for entry fees. After a short trip up-canyon we will arrive at the West Rim Trail head and hike up to Scout's Lookout. If you are not in the mood for a 1000 foot climb we can do the stunningly beautiful Watchman Trail in its place. The 400 foot elevation change makes for a more 'friendly' experience, but with beautiful views as well. Following the first hike, we will make our way to the Emerald Pools Trail head. This hike will take us to a beautiful waterfall with, of course, emerald pools. An alternative would be the Riverside Trail and a hike into the deepest slot canyon on Earth. It is amazing! After finishing the Riverside Trail we will say farewell and depart, hopefully, to see each other again soon!

I provide transportation for you and your group in my clean and air-conditioned 15 passenger, Ford F-350 van if necessary. I also have a Honda Odyssey minivan for smaller groups. Traveling via van may be necessary if the shuttle season has closed in the winter.

We will meet in front of the Zion Visitor Center, located just within the boundaries of the park. The coordinates of the location are: 37.20012478775639, -112.98731227794806 Simply cut and paste those coordinates into a GPS app. I will be wearing a garishly bright yellow windbreaker for easy identification. Also I have very long hair and am incredibly handsome (at least that is what mom says)
