Hi everyone. I am a retired professor and teacher. I taught in middle and high schools, colleges, and universities. I began teaching history and social science classes in August 1981 and continued to December 2015. This led to a comfortable segue into conducting tours by 2000 to share with tourists the information that I had been teaching. I have three collegiate degrees and multiple teaching certificates. I will inundate you with information about the history, government, politics, diversity, growth, economy, businesses, demography, climate, geography, topography, sociology, arts and architecture, taxation, transit, and more of the area and Texas. I will share stories with you about famous and infamous Texans; some are true, some are folklore. I have a dry sense of humor. My intent is to entertain and educate you. I enjoy sharing knowledge with you so that you have a good time and will want to return to or stay longer in our fair city. 1. Certified tour guide with the Professional Tour Guides Association of Houston, 2. Member of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau since 2001. 3. Certified Travel Ambassador (CTA) trained and member since 2014. 4. Tour guide since 2000. 5. Master tour guide for the City of Houston's Multicultural Tours in 2003 and 2004. 6. Included in AAA Tour Books since 2011. I can take up to nine people with their luggage in our full-size van. I pick-up and drop-off people at cruise terminals. I take tourists to museums, and let them tour exhibits at their own pace, telling them what time we need to meet again at the van.

Overview of your Houston tour
We will walk in 2 public gardens, 1 park, and either 1 nature center or 1 private garden. Time permitting, we could go both to Rienzi and the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center. The customer can choose which site if we only have time for one place. On Wednesday through Saturday, we will walk through 1 private garden of a millionaire's former mansion in River Oaks. We will see a variety of flora, trees, waterfalls, creeks, ponds, a pool, sculptured gardens, statues, a Chinese pagoda, Japanese lantern, and more. Two of the gardens have bathrooms. Many photo opportunities will exist.

10:00 - 10:15 AM - Introductions. 10:15 - 10:30 AM - Drive to the McGovern Centennial Gardens. 10:30 - 10:40 AM - Park and use bathrooms. 10:40 - 11:25 AM - Walk through the Gardens. See statues, structures, fountains, and the waterfall. 11:25 - 11:45 AM - Walk through Hermann Park. See Miller Outdoor Theatre (MOT), the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Mecom Fountains, the children's train, the miniature version of the Washington Monument and reflecting pool, the General Sam Houston statue, the location of the Houston Zoo, and more. 11:45 AM - 12:15 PM - Walk through the Japanese Garden. See the Tea House, turtles and koi fish in the pond, walk on a stone pathway beside a potential waterfall, walk on wooden bridges over creeks. Stop for a break at an azumaya (gazebo). 12:15 - 12:35 PM - Walk back to the vehicle. 12:30 - 12:50 PM - Drive to Rienzi or the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center. 12:50 - 1:40 PM - Walk through the garden and or arboretum. 1:40 - 2:00 PM - Drive to City Hall.

The meeting location is Houston's City Hall. On Sunday and Saturday, meet at a picnic table on the upper patio on the east side of City Hall. This is the side where a reflecting pool is located on the lower level. On Monday through Friday, we meet inside the rotunda.
