Aloha! My name is Aaron, and I was born and raised in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. My Hawaiian ancestry can be traced back to the early 1800s, and I take great pride in sharing the culture, history, and traditions that have shaped my home. I originally attended college for Automotive Technology and never imagined I’d become a tour guide. What started as a side job quickly became a passion. I fell in love with meeting people from around the world and showing them the places that mean so much to me. When I’m not guiding, you’ll usually find me outdoors, whether exploring mountain ridges, spending time along the shoreline, or enjoying everything Hawaiʻi has to offer. My tours go beyond facts and landmarks. I share local stories, cultural insights, and the little details that often go unnoticed, giving guests a genuine local perspective. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing visitors experience Hawaiʻi through the eyes of someone who calls it home.

Experience Hawaiʻi Island beyond the typical tourist attractions with an authentic shoreline fishing adventure! Join me, a Native Hawaiian guide born and raised in Hilo, as we explore the beautiful coastline of Hawaiʻi Island and experience one of our island’s favorite traditions — shoreline fishing. Growing up in Hawaiʻi, fishing has always been more than just catching fish. It’s about spending time outdoors, understanding the ocean, and passing down knowledge through generations. Depending on ocean conditions, we’ll target local reef fish such as papio, ʻomilu, toʻau, nenue, and kala. Whether you’re an experienced angler or trying shoreline fishing for the first time, I’ll share local techniques, fishing knowledge, and stories about life growing up in Hawaiʻi. Come experience the island like a local, away from the crowds, where every cast is part of the adventure! Fishing success depends on ocean conditions and is never guaranteed.
Meet & Greet – Start of Our Adventure Our adventure begins with a friendly introduction and an overview of the day’s fishing plans. We’ll discuss ocean conditions, safety, and the types of fish we may encounter. Shoreline Fishing Experience Once we arrive, we’ll get our fishing equipment ready and begin our adventure! I’ll introduce you to local fishing techniques, explain the equipment, and help you get comfortable casting from shore. Depending on the location, weather, and ocean conditions, we may target species such as papio, ʻomilu, toʻau, nenue, and kala. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced fisherman, this experience is designed to be enjoyable, educational, and memorable. Explore, Learn & Enjoy Throughout our fishing adventure, we’ll talk about local marine life, traditional Hawaiian fishing practices, and the importance of respecting and protecting our ocean resources. There will also be opportunities to enjoy the coastal scenery and take photographs.
