I was born and brought up in the little village of Elgol on the Isle of Skye and love to share my passion for and knowledge of my native island with others. Having studied Gaelic and Communications at Scotland's 'National Centre for Gaelic Language and Culture', Sabhal Mor Ostaig, I went on to work with my parents as a tour guide and skipper on their world-renowned boat trips based on Skye. During that time I made various appearances on television and radio to talk about the area, as well as hosting my own weekly show on the local Skye-based radio station, Radio Skye. In 2013 I suffered a serious knee injury which put an end to my sea-going tourism career (as well as giving me a welcome excuse to never take up marathon running!). This led me to question, "what next?" and in 2016 I was delighted to be able to return to tourism offering luxury tours of the Isle of Skye. All my tours offer a taste of luxury as I chauffeur you around the Scottish Highlands in my Land Rover Discovery, which can accommodate groups of up to 7 people. I understand that many people only have a short time available to see the Isle of Skye. Therefore many will want to see as many of the island's highlights as possible and to experience as much of Highland life and culture as possible in a single day. Don't worry - I have the perfect solution for you! Combining my local knowledge with my long background in Skye tourism I have managed to pack an incredible Skye tour into a single, unforgettable day! This is a relaxed and flexible tour through Skye's most scenic areas such as the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, the Quiraing and much more. There is also time to visit Dunvegan Castle (admission fee applies) or to visit the Fairy Pools and even call in at the Talisker whisky distillery. An ideal option for those who only have a single day to see Skye. I am often able to be flexible with timings and itineraries if there are specific places not listed which you would like to visit whilst on Skye.
Stuart was a local fellow with a strong background in the culture, history and landscape of the Isle of Skye. It was like an old friend taking you around to appreciate and understand the history of his people and land. Stuart was delightful and catered to every need during our day together. He is as local as they come, his ancestors have lived on the isle for over 600 years. It was so interesting to learn about Skye from someone who grew up there. Stuart told some great stories and shared all the best views of his home. I had always heard about the beauty of Skye, but it's even more beautiful in person. Stuart have us aa first-rate tour of the Island, and we covered quite a bit of territory. From Portree to The Old Man of Storr to the Quiraing to Talisker Distillery, we had a great time. The only thing we missed was The Fairy Pools, not a good idea when it's raining! Stuart has a great personality and as a lifelong resident of Skye, he has lots of information.
This tour was the highlight of our trip to Scotland. Stuart was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining. He organized the perfect day of site seeing! We would definitely book Stuart again!
We had an extraordinary tour of the Isle of Skye with Stuart M. We are 2 seniors and a 13 year old grandson. Stuart is a genuine local who grew up on the Isle of Skye and his knowledge shows thru. Stuart was very responsive to keeping everyone engaged. Although it was late July the Isle of Skye was beautiful with heathers and other flowers. We started off taking pictures of the Old Man of Storr. We then saw the Lealt and Mealt waterfalls and Kilt rock. We took a walk into the Quiraing, which has beautiful views. We took another walk to the Fairy Glen, which features a nice scramble up a narrow steep path for our sure-footed grandson. Finally, our longest walk was to the Fairy Pools, where the grandson wished he had had a swimsuit since there were people in the water. Overall this was a beautiful day enjoyed by all – we all enjoyed the hikes and the beauty.

I like to be as flexible as possible so am always happy to adjust the following to include any 'must-see' locations not mentioned below. Portree: - We will either start from or visit Portree, Skye's 'capital city and a beautiful fishing port village. The Old Man of Storr, Lealt Falls & Kilt Rock Viewpoints: - I stop for some incredible photo opportunities at these iconic viewpoints. Quiraing - The Quiraing is, for many people, the most captivating and stunning viewpoint on the island. Fairy Glen - As you visit the Fairy Glen you will begin to realize why fairy stories abound here. Dunvegan Castle or Fairy Pools and Talisker Distillery: - For some Highland history the castle is a great option. For those up to the 1 hour or so walk the Fairy Pools (with a visit to the distillery) may be preferred. You can choose on the day (the weather sometimes helps decide!) The castle closes from mid-October to April. Depending on how long you want to spend at other locations there may be time to do both if desired.
