EN Brazilian-born and living in the UK for over 20 years, with an amazing few years in the Scottish Highlands, I am a local tourist guide offering bespoke and pre-set itineraries in Scotland, especially across the Highland region: Northern Highlands, Moray, Speyside, Aberdeenshire and Perthshire. Overview of your Portree tour
The Isle of Skye is a picturesque island located on the west coast of Scotland. It is the largest and northernmost of the Inner Hebrides islands. Also known as Misty Island, the Isle of Skye is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, outdoor activities, and cultural heritage, making it a must-visit destination for nature lovers and those seeking a taste of Scotland's beauty. Before crossing the Skye Bridge, we will have a photo stop opportunity at Eilean Donan Castle. On a day tour to the Isle of Skye from Inverness, we will be driving to some places that will take your breath away such as: Old Man of Storr Quiraing Portree Sligacham Old Bridge Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls Viewpoint The driving route of the day can vary according to local conditions: via Loch Ness and/or Strathcarron area. Walkings Be prepared to walk. There will be some climbing of steep gradients and long walking on uneven paths during the trip. On the West Coast, a potential abundance of midges can distress travellers.
Your Portree tour itinerary
• Departing early from Inverness, around 8:00 a.m., we will take a circular route via Strathcarron or Loch Ness to reach, firstly, the Eilean Donan Castle. There you will have time for an external visit to the castle, to grab a coffee and cake or to have a comfort break. • After stopping at the castle, we will be crossing the Skye Bridge towards Portree, first stopping at Sligacham Old Bridge. A visit to Portree Harbour is a must and a welcoming stop for a quick lunch. • Driving north, we will stop at The Old Man of Storr for some photos, followed by The Quiraing and the Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls viewpoint. By the end of the day, we will be heading back to Inverness via Loch Ness or Strathcarron. The tour can be customized upon request and time permitting on the day.
