Isle of Skye Departing Portree

Neil provided what I can only describe as a concierge-level private day tour experience. We spent two wonderful days touring Scotland with him as our driver, starting at Uig on the Isle of Skye and ending at our hotel in Edinburgh, with many spectacular stops along the way including the Quiraing, Fairy Pools, Eilean Donan, Glencoe and beyond. He didn’t just drive us from place to place, he flawlessly arranged the entire day, adjusting to our preferences in real time, so we could simply relax and enjoy. Neil customized the trip around what we wanted to see, while adding his own deep knowledge of Scotland, its history and culture, and offering up a wee dram of whiskey at well-timed moments. He handled the "little" things – hotel pickup and drop-off, restroom breaks, gift shop stops – without ever making us feel rushed. He knows exactly where the best photo spots are and made sure we got to them. He even steered us to fantastic lunch spots that were quick, delicious and reasonably priced, with unbelievable views. Imagine if we had tried to plan all this ourselves, we marveled. Impossible. After two eight-hour days together, what stands out most is Neil Munro himself: warm, funny, knowledgeable, accommodating and simply a pleasure to spend time with. If you’re looking for a private tour that feels less like being “on a tour” and more like seeing Scotland with a knowledgeable local friend, we highly recommend Neil.

Neil was the best tour guide we had during our entire London/Scotland trip by far! His love of Scotland and his knowledge of the Isle of Skye was quite helpful for all of us to both learn and enjoy the time we had together. He made sure we were comfortable and engaged us in stimulating conversations with his wit and passion for the area. He provided us enough information when we were given choices as to what we could see in the time allotted and during periods of rainfall. The vehicle was immaculate and very comfortable and his driving skills on the narrow roads made us feel safe. I cannot recommend him more highly - if I could I would rate him 10 stars!
