I was born and brought up in the little village of Elgol on the Isle of Skye and love to share my passion for and knowledge of my native island with others. Having studied Gaelic and Communications at Scotland's 'National Centre for Gaelic Language and Culture', Sabhal Mor Ostaig, I went on to work with my parents as a tour guide and skipper on their world-renowned boat trips based on Skye. During that time I made various appearances on television and radio to talk about the area, as well as hosting my own weekly show on the local Skye-based radio station, Radio Skye. In 2013 I suffered a serious knee injury which put an end to my sea-going tourism career (as well as giving me a welcome excuse to never take up marathon running!). This led me to question, "what next?" and in 2016 I was delighted to be able to return to tourism offering luxury tours of the Isle of Skye. All my tours offer a taste of luxury as I chauffeur you around the Scottish Highlands in my Land Rover Discovery, which can accommodate groups of up to 7 people. I look forward to welcoming you to the most beautiful part of the world! I have spent more than 10 years working as a tour guide based on the Isle of Skye. Overview of your Portree tour
For many people on a cruise ship holiday shore excursions can be the highlights of their vacation. My Luxury Shore Excursion from Portree is of the very highest quality and I will do my utmost to accommodate any special requests you have. Born and brought up on the Isle of Skye, I love to share my stories of what life is like in such a remote island and to give you a window into our uniquely Highland culture and history. This will be done whilst treating you to some of the most spectacular scenery you have ever seen and in the luxury of my high spec, comfortable Jaguar JF.
Your Portree tour itinerary
I like to be as flexible as possible so am always happy to adjust itinerary and timings to include any 'must-see' locations you have which are not mentioned below - or if you have less time available on Skye. Here is an idea of how your day could look: Pick up from Portree pier. Stop to enjoy the scenery and get some photos at the following iconic Skye viewpoints (none of these require walking but we do recommend taking short, easy walks at most locations to get the best viewpoints): - The Old Man of Storr - Lealt Falls - Kilt Rock - Quiraing - Fairy Glen Depending on time you have ashore we could also include some of the following: - Dunvegan Castle (NB Additional cost of £14 per person. Castle closed from October to April. ) - Fairy Pools (NB This involves a moderate level unaccompanied walk of around 1 hour and is weather dependent. ) - Talisker Whisky Distillery (either a short visit and look around the shop or a 45 minute tour which costs £15 per person. )
