Born in the central part of Germany, I started with my parents hiking all over Europa while other kids laid at the beach. Soon as Teenager I was keen to achieve more and learned climbing and alpinism at the German Alpine Club. More than 15 years ago I decided to move to Switzerland, not for tax reason, but to be closer to the Alpes and thus being more flexible to cope with weather changes and alpine conditions. Now I am 55 years old and have almost 40 years of mountain and travel experience. I have guided many people, locals and tourists, here in Switzerland on snowshoes, ski, grampons and hiking boots. Furthermore, I am also course leader and guide for snowshoeing, alpine routes, trekking and via ferratas for the section Pilatus of the Swiss Alpine Club. Lucerne is my home base and from here I have explored all parts of Switzerland, from Ticino to Valais and Engadina. I know Central Switzerland very well and can show you attractive places in nature or cities. If you prefer we explore places away from the tourists' crowds, but if you are here for the first time you maybe would like to see the standard sights. I am very open to offer you tailor-made excursions, no matter if you are families or couples, colleagues or friends, naturalists, hikers or alpinists, photographers. With only 3 hours scenic train ride and 2 trains change in Bern and Visp, you will visit famous Zermatt where you can reward yourself with shopping and/or with delicious food in one of the endless restaurants. The walk through the small town is rewarding and you get a good view of Matterhorn. Very Special is the old part of Zermatt with "Heidi-style" houses. A must-see is also the cemetery for alpinists and having seen the graves of young People you may be happy to see Matterhorn only from the distance. Several gondolas lead you to the upper part of the valley with lakes and even better views of Matterhorn. There is a real carusell of gondolas and we can decide where we go according to weather, season and as you like it. On the way back you may like to have a brief stop in Bern since it is on the way.
André was excellent, very responsible and knowledgeable. Without him, we wouldn't have been able to enjoy a perfect day in Zermatt. He was very organized, knowledgeable about schedules, train changes, and made the most of the day. Zermatt is beautiful, well worth a night's stay, and getting to the top of the mountain to see the Matterhorn was a dream come true. Beautiful experience!! Thanks Andre!!
We had a great time with Andre today at Zermatt. He was punctual & very knowledgeable about the area. We took the train to the top of Gornegrat and after lunch, hiked down the stretch between 2 train stops to get the best views. And the views were breathtaking! Andre took great care to find easier routes for my husband who is not only diabetic but has a bad knee. We also enjoyed hearing stories of his mountain climbing and hiking adventures. Best day ever. Andre was a fantastic guide and made our trip to Zermatt and the Matterhorn worry-free. Being a mountaineer himself, he is very knowledgeable about the Alps and had plenty of stories to share for the several hour commute from Lucerne to the Matterhorn. Despite the very short transfer times on public transportation, he knew exactly where to go--and even gave us an impromptu tour of Bern on our way back to Lucerne because we had a later connection in Bern. We would definitely use him again as a guide.
Andre gave us exactly the tour we asked for. It was a delightful day in Zermatt, blue skies and a beautiful view of the Matterhorn. We went to Kliens Matterhorn on the awesome gondolas, took the train from Zurich and back with a stop in Bern for a brief walking tour and a cocktail at the amazing Kornhauskeler. Andre had lots of information to share, took lots of pictures of us which he sent to us at the end of the tour. Thank you Andre, for a wonderful 16 hour tour!

Starting in Lucerne after your breakfast or even before. There is a hourly connection to Zermatt. The Train ride from Bern to Visp and then the ride with a mountain Train (sometimes Glacier Express) through the Mattertal are very scenic. In Zermatt we walk along the main road and will see the most important buidlings. Lunch can be either in Zermatt or somewhere above town after you have taken on of the gondolas, for example to Schwarzsee, Gornergrat or Sunnega. If you like we can make short hikes at the lakes or even take the highest gondola of Europe to Kleines Matterhorn (above 3800 m). In the afternoon you may have a look into some shops, enjoy some local or international food and relish the special atmosphere of one of the most famous mountain villages.
