Alpine Wonders: Lucerne to Interlaken & the Majestic Giessbach Waterfalls or Lauterbrunnen & Murren Day Trip.

We’ll begin with a 1-hour walking tour of Lucerne, exploring its historic sites. Then, we’ll board the Luzern-Interlaken Express for a memorable journey through Switzerland’s heart, with steep valleys, waterfalls, and breathtaking mountain views. This scenic train connects two famous destinations and ranks among Switzerland’s top 5 panoramic routes. In Interlaken, we’ll discover this charming town between two lakes. Alternatively, we can take the funicular to Harder Kulm, 1,300 meters above, for panoramic views. Round-trip tickets cost 40 CHF. Next, we’ll embark on a boat cruise on Lake Brienz, passing Iseltwald Castle and the picturesque fishing village of Iseltwald. The turquoise lake leads us to the magnificent Giessbach Falls. The Giessbach brook cascades 500 meters in 14 stages from the Faulhorn area to Lake Brienz. After exploring the falls, we’ll take the funicular back up and walk down to the boat. Finally, we’ll return to Lucerne, completing this unforgettable Alpine adventure.

Round-trip funicular tickets are 40 CHF. Next, a 1-hour lake cruise to Giessbach Falls, passing the iconic “castle” in Iseltwald. Enjoy an easy walk behind the waterfall and admire breathtaking views from the top. Optional lunch stop (not included). Return to Lucerne (2 hours). Plans can be adjusted during the trip. For example, instead of exploring Interlaken or Harder Kulm, we could visit Lauterbrunnen, the valley of waterfalls, and take a scenic train to the car-free village of Mürren, offering spectacular views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks.
