I live close by the Interlaken area so I have spent time at the famous Jungfraujoch which changed a lot the past years! Did you know that in the early days when the Jungfraujoch station was built they used sleddogs to transport all the material to build the top? At 3463 metres this is very impressive! For years there was a sleddog station at the Eigerglacier which became a tourist attraction for some time. Since I have sleddogs myself for over 20 years, the story about the dogs interests me a lot. Now there is a new Eiger express funicular, which brings you up to the top much faster. You will meet snowy winter all year around. Beautiful snow mountains as far as your eyes can see. . snow crunches under your feet. . overlooking the Aletsch Glacier, which will take your breath away! Let's look on the 4000 metre peaks around you and just enjoy yourself!
- First we'll meet at Interlaken trainstation where we board the train to the top. - Once we get off the train at the Jungfraujoch, we'll visit the ice palace with lots of ice sculptures. ( about 30 min. ] - After that, having a fun ride on the ultrafast lift taking you up to the observatory, an international research station. It climbs 108 metres in 25 seconds (duration depends on the waiting times for the lift ) - If you'd like to feel some snow underneath your feet, we'll go out on a short walking tour along all the beautiful snow covered mountains with a gorgeous beautiful view over the Aletsch glacier! - This will be our morning programm. Around noon we will return down to the Kleine Scheidegg and have a traditional lunch in a cozy restaurant at Kleine Scheidegg! Yummy. . ;-) I love that restauant! If it's sunny, we can sit outside and have lunch there, even in winter! All packed up in warm clothes in the middle of the snow! - After lunch we'll head back to Interlaken.
