Gimmelwald and Chilchbalm Full Day Private Tour

Immerse yourself in a powerful natural world, by hiking in dramatic glacial valleys. The hike takes you through alpine meadows and forests with awe-inspiring views of mountain peaks. We visit a recently renovated 150 year old saw mill and hidden waterfalls. I first came to the Mürren area forty years ago on a one-day visit and thought it was the most beautiful place in the world. I was fortunate to buy a holiday home in the village twenty years ago and spent all the formative years of our children holidaying in both summer and winter. Four years ago, my wife and I made the decision to move to Mürren to live all year round and now I share my love for the area with travellers from all round the world.

Meet in Interlaken and purchase transport tickets. Board the regional train to Lauterbrunnen. The twenty minute journey follows the gorge formed by glaciers and the glacial meltwater of the Weisse Lutschine river with dramatic vertical rock walls. From Lauterbrunnen we will catch a bus to Stechelberg through the dramatic glacial "U" shaped valley. From Stechelberg we will take the cable car to Gimmelwald with panoramic views of the iconic trio of mountains - Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau which takes five minutes. The walking tour of approximately four hours explores the route of the deep sided Sefinen valley with rock faces of a vertical mile. Lunch can be taken at a local inn specialising in locally produce. Return to Interlaken Ost station in approximately one hour. Alternatively I can pick up and drop off by car to drive to the Lauterbrunnen valley.
