Hello Everybody, You are very welcome to visit some of the most beautiful and amazing places in the world. I would like to introduce myself; my name is Martin. I am originally from the Swiss-German part of Switzerland but have been living in the Canton of Geneva since 2014. I have lived and studied in different countries like Ireland, Austria and Germany. I never planned to stay in Geneva; I came here for one year, and that was 10 years ago. The magic, beauty, history, and the amazing people in this region are the reasons why I stayed here and will stay for the rest of my life. I'm blessed to live here. I am a proud father of three beautiful children - two boys and a girl - and a grateful husband. Geneva has a rich history behind it. It started as a fortification for the Romans against the tribe of Helvetii (today's Swiss people). 1500 years later, it had a major impact on the Protestant Reformation until it became, in the 19th and 20th centuries, a diplomatic place with many international organizations such as the UN, WTO, WHO, CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), and many more. But this region is not just Geneva; approximately a one-hour drive from the city, we find ourselves in Gruyère, the Canton of Fribourg, with an amazing castle, one of the best cheese factories in the world, and probably the best chocolate on the whole planet, Cailler. You can enjoy the landscape of our beautiful country while sitting comfortably in the transport I can provide for you . I would love to propose city tours through Geneva, to visit, for example, the almost 1000-year-old Cathedral. Climb up the stairs to have a stunning view of Mont Blanc and the city, and maybe you will fall in love like I did 10 years ago. We could do a day tour to the region of Gruyère, visit the Castle of Gruyères, Maison Cailler (in my opinion, the best chocolatier in the world), and La Maison Gruyère, a cheese factory with the richest history and flavor in the whole of Switzerland. You probably realized it; I am a history nerd and a patriot. My goal is to introduce the history and the amazing culture of my little big country. We are a tiny country compared to our neighbors but we are very unique with four official languages. All the people I've had the chance to meet came as tourists left as friends Let's start our adventure together. I am your man to discover Switzerland. All the best to everyone who took time to read my description. Martin Geneva In the last 5 years as a tour guide, I've had the opportunity to bring the history and culture of my country closer to many people. I've always been, and still am, very enthusiastic about Switzerland's unique history. My goal has never been to focus solely on facts and figures that anyone can look up on Google. While major historical events are crucial, I've found that the people I've been fortunate enough to spend time with appreciate hearing insider stories. These are the historical events passed down to me by my grandparents, who witnessed them firsthand. I would love to show and explain to you why we are so different from other European nations. I would be happy to welcome you to Helvetia, Switzerland. ASK ME
