Bonjour! I'm Ana, a private tour guide with over 10 years of experience in the travel industry. In 2015, I transitioned from a career in journalism to pursue my passion for tour guiding. While it wasn’t always easy, the joy of doing what I love has made the journey worthwhile. One of the highlights of my career was being Rick Steves' guide in Bucharest in 2016 for his TV show about Romania. Since then, I've organized hundreds of customized private tours, mostly for small groups from North America and Australia. After moving to Switzerland to join my husband (whom I met during a tour in Bucharest), I’ve continued guiding in my new home. For the past two years, Geneva and the Swiss Riviera—Lausanne, Vevey, and Montreux—have become the focus of my tours. I specialize in creating personalized itineraries that reflect the unique interests of my clients. If you’re planning a visit to this part of the world, feel free to explore my tours and get in touch for a customized experience! As a side note, I don't drive, so all my tours are on foot or using the public transportation network such as trains and buses. Also, I do not lead tours inside museums where local museum guides and organized tours are available.

When people think of Geneva, they often imagine Lake Geneva, Swiss chocolate, luxury watches, and the headquarters of renowned international organizations. However, there's so much more to discover in this captivating city. Join me on a relaxed and enjoyable walking tour to learn about some of the most engaging and intriguing stories behind Geneva's landmarks. During our tour, you'll discover the tradition of the pot that dates back to medieval times, and learn about the history of Geneva's watchmaking industry and its connection to the European Protestants. We'll also visit the places where heads of state and other international policymakers shape the world's future. As your guide, I'll share my knowledge and passion for Geneva, ensuring you have a memorable experience.
Highlights of this private tour: • St. Peter's Cathedral - displays an intriguing mix of a Gothic church (late 12th century) and a Neo-Classical façade (added in the 18th century); • Place Bourg-de-Four - the oldest square in Geneva, located at the very heart of the Old Town; • Maison Tavel - the oldest private residence in Geneva, giving you a glimpse of how the Swiss people lived over the centuries ; • Reformer's Wall - built in 1909, it honours many of the main individuals, events, and documents of the Protestant Reformation; • Secret passages of the Old Town - they're not so secret anymore, but easily overlooked by those who are not locals ; • Jet d'Eau - the iconic landmark of Lake Geneva, dates to 1886; The itinerary is flexible, for any changes please let me know.
