Welcome to Geneva! I will be happy to show you this international city and its surroundings. As a frequent traveler I can compare this country with others and I would say that Switzerland is made for tourists: a welcome industry has been created more than a century ago, life looks stressless, and the landscape is beautiful. As the headquarters of multilateral diplomacy Geneva is at the heart of most peace negotiations and is very tourist and foreigner's friendly. Swiss cuisine will possibly attract you although you will be able to find any kind of ethnic restaurant of your choice. Shopping may also look tempting because of the expensive items, as watches, which will be on display in the city centre shops. In this regard, a less dangerous place to get acquainted with will be the Watch museum, one of the most beautiful in the world. I am an official guide here since 2004, when I was recruited by Geneva Tourist Office following the completion of my Degree on Heritage and Tourism delivered by the University of Geneva. I have also worked previously as a guide at the UN Geneva Headquarters when I arrived to the city thirty years ago. In the meantime I had different jobs, as teaching and translating, mainly in the humanitarian area. I pursue these activities occasionally. Given the place I live and my work experience I enjoy working with people of different languages and nationalities. Besides that, and although I appreciate the general mood of the city, I try to give the opportunity to discover many cultural and historical aspects of this culture which are probably less known but not less interesting. Licence as an official Geneva guide Degree in Tourism and Heritage Member of the Geneva Guides Association M.A. in Russian Language and Literature I am not allowed to give tours inside most museums which have their own guides I do not have a car, but Ican accompany you in public transport or arrange for a taxi or a car with a driver

You will then reach by boat the opposite shore to have a glimpse at the international area with the UN and the many international organizations.
