Welcome to my homeland , ASTURIAS. From I was a little boy, my illusion was to travel all around the world, and now , I can say that I had travelled for more than 40 countries all around the world and I had discovered wonderful places , lovely towns , extraordinary monuments , kindly - sweet and friendly people in my trips . . but , my place for growing , for working, for living, … the place to have my babies and also to die … that place is … Asturias. The reason ? … because I am in love with my land… with the green valleys, with the small mining-towns , with the high peaks of our mountains , with the brave cantabric sea , with the Celtic past , with the sound of the bagpipes , with the flavour of our local cheeses … because I love to feel over my face the cool breeze of the air when I leave my house to go working and f I feel that I am in very special place with history, nature , art , past , safety and … future . That feeling, is something that always , after 25 years of hard work , I try to transmit to my guests , the love for Asturias Natural Paradise. Let me introduce my birth-place , and let me show to you , the history of our 12 kings , let me visit with you our prerromanesque monuments declared by the UNESCO as worldwide heritage , let me share with you our fresh gastronomy and my love for my region. I wait for your visit to give to you the warm hospitality of my country . René Official local guide of Asturias number GT-5 // Degree in Tourism by Oviedo's university // MBA by Oviedo's University. The oldest town in Asturias opens its doors to discover its secrets. From the ancient Saxum (name given to the town in ancient Rome), to the monumentality of one of the great Spanish artists (Eduardo Chillida)... everything comes together in this charming and surprising city on the Cantabrian coast.
Our itinerary is designed to discover the entire old neighborhood of the town (from the old thermal baths or pieces of the Roman wall; to the monuments known for "Elogio del Horizonte" by Eduardo Chillida). We will also visit the church of San Pedro, the marina, the Pozo de la Barquera, the Chapel of Solitude, the Santa Catalina hill... but also the widening of the street with its modernist houses, or part of the immense St. Lawrence Bay. All pedestrian, with time to rest and enjoy the views
