Asturias Nature wonders: Picos de Europa and Covadonga Lakes

Hola! My name is Debora and I am very excited to show you around in beautiful Asturias! I am from the Netherlands, but married to a Spanish guy. From the moment that he introduced me to his home region Asturias a few years ago I fell in love with the landscape, friendly people and great food, and I am looking forward to share it with you! Since I was a young girl I have been passionate about nature and travelling. Next to my studies in Forestry and Nature Conservation and International Land and Water Management, I have therefore been volunteering as a guide for several Dutch and international organizations, where I primarily focused on showing children and teenagers the beauty of nature. I have visited most European countries as well as spent time in Indonesia, Zambia, Mexico and the USA. These trips allowed me to get to know other cultures and get acquainted with amazing local habits and customs. The inviting and friendly attitude of most of the people that I met in these countries, encourage me to do the same for people wanting to get to know Asturias! I live in Oviedo in the north of Spain since the beginning of 2018. Right from the start, I have explored not only this city but also nearby cities such as Gijon and Aviles, as well as the surrounding countryside.
