Let's relive the village life and hop on a bumboat to Pulau Ubin, an island off the northeast of Singapore. Considered the last kampong (village) in Singapore, one is transported back in time to life in the '60s, where water is still drawn from wells, stoves fired by wood and lights powered by generator. Explore the natural habitat at Chek Jawa Wetlands and appreciate one of Singapore's richest ecosystems. Tour a fruit orchard and get to know the different fruits like durian, rambutan and jackfruit among others, grown by the villagers as crop. Visit a kampong house to see how life was like and the everyday activities that goes on in the household. A perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city with a local.
