Hi and welcome to almost paradise! My name is Elvis and was born and bred in the city of Basseterre, in St. Kitts. I would like to share my knowledge of the history, flora and fauna, culture and architecture of St. Kitts with you. St. Kitts is the first island settled by both the British and the French in the eastern Caribbean. The island is very rich in French and British history. I have traveled to a few countries like Canada and about six other Caribbean islands. My private tours will give you a view that only a local can give. You will get to see one of the best-preserved fortresses in the Caribbean, some of the best-restored sugar plantation houses and their botanical gardens. I will help you to appreciate the beauty and history of my island that I always like to share with my guests. I am a member of one of the three taxi organizations on the island. Also, I am a member of the St. Kitts Nevis amateur radio society. After receiving my taxi license in 2006, for the last 12 years, I have been driving taxis and give tours. It's always a pleasure to offer tours of the island just to see the satisfaction on the guests' face of being in paradise. Come on here and let me share this paradise with you! In 2006 I received my taxi operator license and have been driving taxis and give tours for the last 12 years. As a licensed tour guide, I will be able to tour you to all the major sites. Every year it is mandatory that all drivers have to do a recertification course to maintain a very high standard of service. I have not licensed to give tours in the rain forest and the volcano but you can visit both on tour.

Overview of your Basseterre tour
The first European settlers came to the island in the early 1600s. Basseterre has a sheltered Harbour and from the sea the land gentle slopes up into the mountain. This offered the Europeans shelter for their ships. A city tour takes you around the town of Basseterre for about two hours where you can see some of the well preserved Victorian architecture. Some of the many churches like the St. George's Anglican Church. The War Memorial which has found a permanent place after it was moved twice before and more! Once was the main slave market on the island, Independence Square is now used by many businesses to advertise new products. It is a beautiful and relaxing meeting point to have something to eat or just relax with friends. After the tour we then drive to South Friars beach where you can swim or relax in the tropical sunshine for about 2 hours. I was born and bred in the city of Basseterre and it would be my pleasure to share the beauty and history of my island with you!
Your Basseterre tour itinerary
At Port Zante we would meet in the shopping area at the Gold Mind store. We then proceed to the air conditioned van. As your private tour guide I will tour you around the city of Basseterre for about two hours. We make a few stops where you can take pictures of the circus, the National Museum and independence square. You would be able to visit the churches or if you wish to just stop and take pictures of these sites. After the tour we then drive to Carambola Beach club at South Friars beach. Here you can swim for about two hours in the tropical sunshine. The day ends when you are safely back to Port Zante where you can walk back to the ship.
