Chichen Itza Private Full Day Tour with Cenote

We hosted my wife's parents in Cancun and visiting Chichen Itza feels like a rite of passage when visiting the Yucatan Peninsula. Given my mother-in-laws mobility needs, Fernando was super helpful in securing a wheelchair for us in advance (which we were happy to pay for) and that made covering the site with her feasible. Fernando has extensive knowledge of the area and history and brought along an iPad with a number of helpful videos and pics to provide better understanding and context.

My family and I had such a great experience with Fernando. We apreciated his knowledge, friendliness, and flexibility, accommodating our family of five. Our Chichen Itza tour and cenote swimming trip would not have been complete without his historical and local knowledge, with lots of fun facts and great pictures. Thank you, Fernando! We hired Fernando to do a full day at Chichen Itza and 2 separate cenotes. He absolutely knows what he is doing and the first hand history lesson of Cancun, Chichen Itza and the cenotes made the impact of hiring a private guide worth every single penny. First off, Fernando is the most accommodating tour guide I have ever worked with. We had 2 kids with us (7 and 11) and he was always kept them in mind when we were doing the early morning drive, the walking around in the hot, humid areas of Chichen Itza, and keeping them (and all of us safe) when swimming in the cenotes. Making kids walk around Chichen Itza for 3hrs is a tall task and he was prepared with a backpack of cool water ready at all times. We are so grateful for the dedication and care he took of us and now we are excited about planning our next trip to Mexico and hopefully he’ll be available to help us out again.

What a beautiful experience with Fernando visiting the Yucatán area! On very short notice he was able to accommodate me on a private tour of Chichen Itza and Selva Maya, picking me up from my hotel in Playa Del Carmen, delivering me back on the timeline I requested and all with wonderful conversation and care. Would highly recommend Fernando and I’m looking forward to other experiences with him as my guide when I return.

Fernando was amazing. He was very open to altering the itinerary for my family. He provided the right amount of history and insights which was a tall task considering my wife is a former history teacher and our kids are history buffs. He kept the pace moving in order to accommodate our changes. Provided an abundance of refreshments along the way as well. Definitely would recommend Fernando.

Couldn’t recommend this tour with Fernando more! Fernando was incredibly knowledgeable and found the perfect blend of information sharing and letting us take things in on our own. He was great communicating, punctual, flexible and completely professional. He even went above and beyond by creating a unique personal video with highlights from the day as a keepsake. It’s clear he takes great pride in his craft (as he should!) Looking forward to another trip back to Cancun at some point with Fernando taking us on another great tour! We are a family of 5 (with 3 teenagers).
