If I need to describe myself in one sentence it would be: I am Elena the world citizen, in eternal love with the world, photography and yoga. But if you have time, now you can read the whole story. My name is Elena and I was born and raised in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. In my life I had many opportunities to travel abroad and even lived for some time in few countries like Italy and Peru. My first long-term experience abroad was in Turin, Italy where I did my Master in Mediterranean trips, travel itineraries, communication and culture. In Turin for the first time I knew it what I want to do in my life: working in the field of the tourism. I love traveling, if I could travel during the whole year I would do it, but since it was impossible I needed to find a job that would allow me to stay in touch with people from different countries, and at the same time give me the same feeling like when I am travelling (sharing experiences, learning new things). I said to myself, if I cannot travel around the world, then the world can come to me. So I decided to take the license to become a tour guide and here I am, in the last few years my official job is a tourist guide. When I was living abroad I realized that I still don't know lot of things about my country, so after I came back home I decided to explore better Macedonia. I also started to write some articles on my travel blog about cities and places in my country that are still not so touristic. I was working few years on the tourist promotion between Macedonia and Italy and I always wanted to stay far from the mass tourism, I would love to promote the slow and alternative tourism. This is the main reason why I always want to work with small groups. But working with small groups also allows me to make you feel like meeting an old friend, with who you share experiences, ideas and having a really good time and unique experience in Macedonia. So if your next destination is Skopje and you want to do as the locals do, I am here to become your local guide. Master of Mediterranean trips, tours, communication and culture (University of Turin, Italy) International internship for young tourism and culture managers (Pordenone, Italy) Internship in MCL Biella promotion of Macedonian and Italian tourism (Biella, Italy) Tourist guide license (Association of Tourist guides of Macedonia) I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Overview of your Skopje tour

Let me help you create your first impression about the city of Skopje. Let me tell you all about the legends, the stories, all the historical and cultural facts about my beloved birthplace. We'll step into the new part of the city first, where we are going to learn what happened to Skopje in recent past. The part of our city that witnesses for it's rebirth from the ruins in the earthquake in 1963. We'll walk through the same streets which used to be the heart of the city, where all the locals gathered and where they would find their soulmate. Today the situation is similar, in a more modern way- we have more bars, restaurants, modern boutiques and kitsch architecture. When you'd think you've seen it all, I will show you the invisible border which divides Skopje into two different areas, we'll climb on top of the Kale Fortress , where you have a magnificent view from the whole city, and then we'll roam the tiny narrow streets where you can feel and taste all the sounds, colors and smells of the old Bazaar

Elena is a great guide! We had a wonderful time during the Skopje walking tour, learning a lot about Macedonian history and present conditions. After the tour, Elena even mailed a list of restaurants, foods and wines to try, and suggestions of Macedonian movies. Elena is super friendly and fun; it really felt like spending the day with a good old friend. I highly recommend her as a guide.

Our tour guide Elena in Skopje was absolutely outstanding. Her enthusiasm for the city and for Macedonia as a whole came through in everything she said and did. She shared her deep knowledge of Skopje’s history, culture, and traditions with such warmth and passion that it made every stop along the way come alive. Her insight into both the historical and modern aspects of Macedonia gave us a true appreciation for this fascinating country. It was clear she loves what she does, and her energy and expertise made our visit both informative and unforgettable. Hal

Elena was a delightful person and a great tour guide. Before we met, she communicated with us and adjusted her tour to fit our interests and time availability. She was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her home city of Skopje. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and we could understand why she was so proud of Skopje. We wandered through the downtown areas and the older parts of Skopje and she explained Project 2014 to us so as to explain the many statues. We stopped for a "Macedonian coffee" and enjoyed watching the passing pedestrians. We would recommend Elena to future visitors to Skopje. She shared her personal travels with us which we listened to with interest to share her opinions with ours of the same destinations.

Elena is very knowledgeable and shared stories in an informative and entertaining manner. Furthermore, she was extremely attentive to our special needs.
