My name is Bojan, but people all call me Rante, so you can too. I'm a professional guide that would love to provide you with adventurous experiences, blended with magical nature landscapes, hidden cultural sites, and tasty local cuisine. Being a graduated forestry engineer, and an MSc in rural development - anthropology and sociology of the rural, I am the person to show you the world beyond the cities in Macedonia. My passion is bicycles and photography. So I can gladly take you on a bike tour to see and experience unique places. It is good to mention that my professionally related interests are protected areas, sacred natural sites, old trees, and places (what kind of meanings people associate to a place). Therefore I can show you the local's side of a place. Skopje is the town where I live, though I've been to every hidden place in Macedonia. I love Macedonia for its nature, and for its traditional cuisine. It is a place where you can experience something different (a landscape, people, culture) on every few steps you make; where villagers will not let you go without having a drink together; where food is whole ceremony of tastes and love. I am at your availability to make your visit and experience of Macedonia personal, unique and memorable. Tourist Guide License No.478 (Association of Tourist Guides of Macedonia) Master of Science in Rural Development (Ghent Univeristy, Belgium) Forestry Engineer (University of Ss Cyrilus and Methodius, Macedonia) Adventure EDU (Adventure Travel Trade Association Education Certificate) Scout Leader (Scout Association of Macedonia) I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Your tour for the day is to visit one of the hidden historic landmarks of Skopje - the Roman Aqueduct. The Roman Aqueduct is in a sense the ghost landmark of Skopje. It is used as a symbol of the water supply company, but it has never been readily accessible to the public due to its vicinity to the army barracks. We will go to the Aqueduct with a bicycle making a tour of the central part of Skopje, until we reach the 386m/422yd long, historic beauty. We will walk around it while I tell you the history of the Aqueduct. Then, we can simply sit somewhere just to enjoy the view in a quiet environment, knowing that we are so close to the city, yet in such a different surrounding. Then after you've taken photos and inspected how the water used to run through it, we can leave. For photography enthusiasts I recommend to plan to be there at sunset, since the walls of the Aqueduct face West. This is also a great winter tour.
The proposed itinerary is as follows, though it can be customised to your liking: - We meet at your accommodation or at a specific meeting point. - We ride bikes to the aqueduct ~40 minutes - We explore the Aqueduct while I tell you its history. ~30 minutes ~ We make a lot of photos and/or enjoy the place. ~30 minutes ~ We ride bikes back to your accommodation or to our meeting place. ~40 minutes This tour can be customized, feel free to contact me.
