Hamjambo!. . . . ……. (Hello). I am Kabiru, a Kenyan native, resident and a professional guide. I grew up in the Northern part of Kenya, Laikipa, an area rich in cultures and wildlife, which prepared me and brought about my passion for adventure. I'm also a graduate in Tourism Studies from the University of Nairobi, as well an Environmental Policy student focusing on maintaining our tourism eco-systems. I have a special attachment and attention to our authentic cultural diversity. In this, I have also over the past years involved myself with research and conservation activities with organizations including; Trust for African Rock art, as a community cultural coordinator, National Museums of Kenya as a researcher, Nature Kenya in ornithology (birding) and Kenya Wildlife service as a volunteer. By currently residing in Nairobi, I live just at the borderline of Nairobi National Park and thus a member of Friends of Nairobi National Park. I am passionate about traveling and take pride in guiding someone else around my beautiful country. As a solo camper and hitch-hiker, I have transversed my country and the East African region quite extensively. I must say that 'Magical Kenya' has so much to offer, you will need numerous trips to explore it all. However, it's no doubt that within your short visits, I can guide you to a glimpse of what our country has to offer to which you'll definitely fall in Love with Kenya. Whether you are looking for luxurious lodges, tented camps or basic campsites, Kenya has quite a well-developed tourism infrastructure and superstructure. Our transport network is great as well to ensure an easy access to attractions and destinations. Although Kenya has different climatic conditions, in different places at different times through the year, we don't have extreme conditions that really discourage travel. It is, however, advisable to consult on the best times to visit depending on destinations of choice. Through research and experience, I'm able and available for consultancy on the best places to visit at which times of the year. It is my pleasure to guide you in most if not all of our attractions to feel the real untamed savanna bush experience - Wildlife viewing, the relaxing sunny, sandy white and lovely - Beach travel, the tough and unforgiving landscapes for - Mountain climbing, the hot unending great plains of the North - Desert Safaris, unimaginable destinations and landscapes - Sightseeing, exclusive hidden gems - Honey-Mooners safaris and the best of aerial experiences -Balloon Safaris and Paragliding amongst others. Not forgetting your safety by ensuring we have the right equipment to conquer terrains as well as service delivery in both guiding and comfortable stays to ensure nothing but the best of memorable experiences. Welcome to Kenya! Kenya is named after Mt. Kenya, the highest mountain in Kenya. I hail from the Kikuyu community whose ancestral home was around the mountain, atop of which we believed our God dwelled there. To me, He still does. I was raised in Laikipia and Mt. Kenya region is the only source of water -source of life- for the people, our livestock and our farms in the beautiful semi arid region full of cultural diversity. A home to Kenya's freedom fighters, the Aberdare ranges is one adventurous place for a drive in the moorlands as well as walking safaris around its falls, of which are the highest in Kenya. A day's trip up Mt. Kenya through Sirimon route will let you get intimate with the mountain and its wildlife species. Samburu National Reserve hosts exclusive wildlife species of Northern Kenya including the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk and the reticulated giraffe. Ol Pejeta conservancy does give you a chance to see the very last of Northern white rhinos and the only chimpanzees we have in Kenya.
Day 1: Depart Nairobi for the Aberdare ranges where we have a game drive, and walking sessions in the park. We spend the night at the park. Day 2: We depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a place of abundant wildlife with a chance to see chimpanzees and the last two Northern white rhinos in the world. Day 3: We have a one day drive up Mt. Kenya through Sirimon gate and a brief hike up the mountain where possible. Day 4: We depart for Samburu after breakfast and check in at hotel after a cultural village experience. The group will have an evening wildlife drive in the Park. Day 5: After a morning drive in the park, we come back to hotel for breakfast and then depart for Nairobi. Please remember this itinerary is flexible. I will be happy to customise the tour for you!
