Skip the Souvenirs. Take Home a New Skill. I am your Local Guide to Experiencing Jordan, Learning Something New and Taking a Piece of Jordan Home Ahlan wa Sahlan — Welcome to Jordan! My name is Jihad, and I’m a licensed Jordanian tour guide, proudly born and raised in Petra. Jordan is not simply a country I guide in—it is my home. Sharing its history, culture, landscapes, and traditions with travelers from around the world is something I genuinely love. I have been a registered member of the Jordan Tour Guides Association (JTGA) since 2011, and over the years I’ve had the privilege of welcoming guests from many different countries and helping them experience the Jordan beyond the usual guidebook. Growing up in Petra gave me a special connection to one of Jordan’s greatest treasures. I know its famous monuments, but I also love sharing the stories, archaeology, traditions, trails, viewpoints, and lesser-known places that can turn a visit into something much more personal. But Jordan is much more than Petra. From the Roman ruins of Jerash and the biblical landscapes of Madaba and Mount Nebo to the dramatic desert of Wadi Rum and the relaxing waters of the Dead Sea, Jordan offers an incredible variety of experiences. Whether you are interested in archaeology, history, religion, hiking, photography, food, Bedouin culture, or simply taking your time and enjoying the journey, I can help you experience Jordan in a way that fits you. Don’t Just Visit Jordan. Experience It. I believe the best private tours are not about rushing from one famous site to another and taking a few photographs. They are about experiencing a place, understanding its people, learning something new, and creating memories that stay with you. That is why I like to go beyond traditional sightseeing whenever possible. Depending on your interests, your journey can include opportunities to learn something along the way—perhaps preparing a traditional Jordanian dish, learning how to make Arabic coffee, discovering Bedouin traditions, learning a few useful Arabic expressions, understanding how archaeologists read an ancient landscape, improving your photography in Petra or Wadi Rum, or simply learning the stories and customs behind the places you visit. Skip the souvenirs. Take home a new skill, a new perspective, and a story worth sharing. Your Journey, Your Way A great private tour should feel like your trip—not a fixed itinerary you simply follow. Before and during your journey, I take the time to understand what interests you and adapt the experience to your pace and travel style. You may be passionate about: Archaeology and ancient history Biblical and religious sites Hiking and adventure Photography and landscapes Jordanian food and local culture Bedouin traditions and desert life Hidden and less-visited places Meeting local people and experiencing everyday Jordan Traveling slowly and having time to enjoy each destination I welcome solo travelers, couples, families, and small groups. If you want to spend longer at a site, take a different trail, stop for photographs, try a local dish, or simply slow down and enjoy the view, that flexibility is part of the experience. What You Can Expect When you travel with me, you can expect: A licensed local guide with extensive knowledge of Jordan Genuine local insight from someone born and raised in Petra Private and comfortable transportation Flexible itineraries designed around your interests Fascinating stories that bring Jordan’s history and culture to life Honest local recommendations for food, hotels, and experiences Opportunities to experience Jordan beyond the typical tourist route A relaxed and friendly atmosphere where you can ask questions and explore at your own pace Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable. I don't want you to feel like just another tourist following a schedule. I want you to feel that you are traveling with a local who is genuinely happy to share his country with you. Come for the Sights. Leave with a Story. Jordan is famous for Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, and its ancient civilizations. But some of my favorite moments happen between the highlights—a conversation over a cup of Arabic coffee, discovering a quiet viewpoint, meeting local people, sharing a meal, learning something you didn't expect, or simply taking a moment to appreciate the landscape without rushing. After your trip, my hope is that you leave Jordan with more than photographs. I hope you leave with stories, memories, new knowledge, a new skill, and a genuine connection to my country. You may forget the souvenir you bought, but you are much more likely to remember the meal you helped prepare, the Arabic word you learned to say, the desert skill you discovered, the story you heard from a local, or the moment you stood somewhere extraordinary and understood what made that place special. See Jordan. Experience Jordan. Learn Something New. Ahlan wa Sahlan — Welcome to Jordan! I look forward to meeting you, sharing my home with you, and helping you discover the Jordan that I know and love.
