Hello everyone, I’m Khas. Thank you for deciding to come to Kyoto! I’m a passionate local guide, and my tours are built around the hidden beauty of Kyoto, where the charm is found in small details, rather than in a plain sight, and my job is to help you see them clearly and experience Kyoto to its fullest. Although I am new on the platform, I have years of guiding experience, which turned into a passion of meeting and connecting with lots of awesome people around the World. It is always a pleasure to help others “peek into” the local culture and experience it from an insider’s perspective. With my IR background and interests in historical, religious and cultural studies, I focus on explaining the patterns behind what you see, how history, beliefs, and daily life connect. I specialize in Kyoto, Osaka and Nara, taking guests through must-see sights and the quieter streets most guests overlook. But it doesn’t stop there - throughout many years in Japan, I have developed a big interest in all sorts of Japanese foods and help people experience the beauty in Japanese cuisine, finding the best spots for foods such as Okonomiyaki, Gyoza, Katsudon, Seafood and so many others. Every tour is flexible, I adjust the pace to the group, and go deeper or lighter depending on your curiosity and energy. No scripts and no rushing to help you make the most out of your time here in Japan. If you’re curious, and want a tour that feels more like discovering with a local friend who understands Japan rather than being talked at, I’d be happy to show you around.

Enjoy the beautiful city of Nara, Japan’s first permanent capital, and discover where much of the country’s culture, religion, and identity began. This walking tour takes you through Nara’s most important historical sites while keeping a calm, enjoyable pace that lets you truly absorb the atmosphere. We’ll explore Nara Park, famous for its cheerful deer, and visit ancient temples and shrines that played a key role in shaping early Japan. Along the way, you’ll learn how Buddhism arrived, why Nara was chosen as the capital, and how its influence still shapes Japanese life today. Using quiet paths and local routes, we’ll move efficiently while avoiding unnecessary crowds whenever possible. This tour is ideal for travelers who want not just beautiful photos, but also context, stories, and insight that bring Nara’s history to life.
