Private Walking Tour - Half Day in Nara

Having not been to Nara on our two previous trips to Japan we were determined to include Nara on this trip. Our guide was Akira who was very efficient with the public transport setup and happy to change to taxis when required to avoid the crush of tourists. Akira’s knowledge and insight of the various temple and shrine complexes was first class and he was more than happy to answer all our questions on all manner of subjects. We finished with a walk through the old part of Nara and then the shopping precinct. After the tour we even had the confidence to make our way back the next day for some serious souvenir and memento hunting. We would recommend Akira as a guide to see the sights of Nara.

We had a good tour with Akira! Before the scheduled tour, I emailed Akira and asked if we could shorten the tour by an hour. He was able to show us the temples and shrines that were important and explain the history and significance really well to us. He got us to our train and made sure that we got back to Kyoto on time. Akira has a good knowledge of English language. He organized our tour in Nara the way, that after two weeks of sightseeing in Japan, we still were amazed by the magnificent beauty and grandeur of Temples and Shrines of Nara, survived after centuries of wars and natural disasters. Akira has extensive knowledge of Japan's history and culture and answered all our question. As a bonus we enjoyed meeting, feeding and patting cute deers. We highly recommend his services to future tourists.
