Hi ! I'm Koichi. I was born in Osaka, I studied in Kyoto when I was a university student. Now I live in Shiga which is famous for the biggest lake in Japan. I am a national government licensed tour guide. I do this job as a freelance tour guide. I have been guiding about 160 groups over the past twelve months. I'm also a member of Kyoto City Bus & Subway Information Center. I usually guide my customers mainly in Kansai region including Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Kobe and Shiga by public transportation systems. Well, I am curious about Japanese history, especially the history of Japan's ancient times since I was raised next to the world biggest mausoleum of the ancient Emperor called "Nintoku" in Sakai-city Osaka which has just become the one of world cultural heritage sites. I dug out some ancient earthen ware when I was a primary school student. I felt I was like the adventure archaeologist "Indiana Jones" (It's our secret!!). That was my hobby. Now, one of my hobbies is outdoor activity such as mountaineering, kayaking, skiing and so on. So I can also take you to some good places where you can enjoy Japanese unique nature. Overview of your Kyoto tour
Aren't you tired of busy sightseeing spots a little bit? Don't you want to move your body, and enjoy workout on the mountain path with some calm historical sites? If you think so, I recommend this trekking tour. This tour includes hiking from Yamashina Bishamondo Temple to Ginkakuji Silver Pavilion via Eastern Mountain Trekking Route. Bishamondo is a temple that is associated with the Imperial family, and its beautiful precincts attract many photographers, especially during the cherry blossom and autumn foliage season. In particular, Mt. Daimonji offers you a spectacular view of Kyoto that most tourists (even Japanese) have never seen. I think It is unmistakably the top observation deck in Kyoto. If you are physically well enough after the hike, It would be nice to visit Ginkakuji Silver Temple, one of the world heritage sites. I love its moss garden. Once you finish the tour, let's celebrate your accomplishment with a nice beverage ( maybe a local Kyoto beer?). Cheers and Kanpa-ai !! Kyun-desu!!

Daimonji(Height 470m) 12:30 Fire place of Mt. Daimoji ("Bento" Lunch Time) *you can enjoy Breathtaking view from eastern mountains(Mt. Daimonji) *Have lunch around Ginkakuji 13:30 Ginkakuji (Silver pavilion) *Walking along the Philosopher's Path from Silver Pavilion to Nanzenji Temple 15:00 Nanzenji Temple (Subway station "Keage") (Note) I recommend you should wear sneakers or hiking shoes, and bring a rain wear or an umbrella in case of shower, and also bring some bottles of water and snacks to appease your thirst and hunger temporarily since we will walk about 3-4 hours in mountainous area.
