Hello and welcome to Kyoto! I am a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter. You can call me MIYA. I got my certification in 2021 and have been working as a professional guide since January 2023, primarily in Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Koyasan. I find Japanese culture to be truly distinctive. And I love Kyoto, which still embodies so much of that unique culture and present to travelers. There are so many precious moments working as a guide. When guests see something and say “Wow!” when they enjoy Kyoto and discover commonalities with their own culture.etc.. My personal interests include eating, drinking, art, movies, and travel. I will try to find restaurants that match your preferences. Here, I would like to start by offering tours that I have already guided visitors many times and I found them popular. For example: Backroad Arashiyama to the famous bamboo grove Kyoto Art Tour Garden Tour Tour of Nishijin, the Heart of Kimono Craftsmanship Nara one Day Tour etc.. And then Future tours I hope to offer here include some lesser-known spots such as: Gion Festival Tour (through July) Osaka Modern Architecture Tour Kyoto Film Tour: Once Called Japan's Hollywood Shiga Prefecture Water City Tour And many more Looking forward to seeing you! Thanks. I hold the following qualifications: Art Certification Kyoto Certification History Certification Authorized Tour Conductor National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter

Here is a guide to the yama-hoko floats featured in the second half of the Gion Festival, and the area where the floats are displayed from dusk through to nightfall. You will have the opportunity to view the priceless treasures on display at each Yamahoko float and their base houses - referred to as a ‘moving art gallery’. At the same time, you can catch a glimpse of the artworks, such as folding screens, held in the collections of the various machiya townhouses of wealthy merchants. They are sometimes called a ‘still art gallery’, in contrast. As we walk along the streets illuminated by lanterns, I will introduce each float’s unique characteristics and the history of this festival, which has lasted for over 1,000 years to you. Once the tour is over, you can either explore the festival on your own or I’ll take you to another location before we part ways. ‼️Please note! This year, this tour is only available on the 19th, 21st, and 22nd of July.
