Hello, I'm Francesco, packed your bags? I'm waiting for you to have an amazing experience with me in Campania, the region for which I've been an official guide since 2014. I live in the charming and delightful city of Salerno since I moved from Teggiano, a medieval village nested in a beautiful valley from "Cilento and Vallo di Diano" National Park, where I grew up breathing art and history, and where I developed a passion for archeology. I cultivated this passion by graduating in archeology in Naples and taking a Master's degree at the prestigious "La Sapienza" University of Rome. I had the opportunity to excavate in prestigious and dreamy places, such as the archaeological site of Pompeii and the slopes of the Palatine Hill, at the foot of the Colosseum. I improved my English by moving to Nottingham, UK, where I studied at a local English school and worked in an Italian restaurant, an experience that allowed me to broaden my human, linguistic and personal horizons. The desire to return home was strong though, so I returned to Salerno, where I qualified as a tour guide. Thanks to this new job I was able to cultivate my other two passions such as travel and good Italian food and wine! But above all, I was able to start a family and now I am the father of two wonderful children. During the years of Covid-19, I worked as a teacher, which allowed me to improve my ability to relate to kids of different ages. In these years I think I've gained considerable experience and knowledge in my work that I'll put behind making your Italian holiday a unique experience. I hope to introduce you to a treasure chest of wonders from archaeology to gastronomy, art & culture found in Campania. I can't wait to accompany you along the divine Amalfi Coast, but of course, I want you to better appreciate my heart and soul which is Salerno, the place where I really feel at home and where I try daily to make visitors feel special. So if you are looking for an expert and passionate tour guide, do not hesitate to contact me! Licensed tourist guide of Campania Region since 2014. Master degree in Archeology at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". Bachelor's degree in Conservation of Cultural and Archaeological Heritage at the University "Suor Orsola Benincasa" of Naples. I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

The beauty of Salerno is mainly due to its delightful position, located in a splendid gulf between the Amalfi and Cilento coasts, sorrounded by lush hills and mountains as well as a wonderful sea. This tour will allow you to fully appreciate the uniqueness of this area because we will be able to discover the city from its most spectacular panoramic point, which is the ancient castle built by the Lombard prince Arechi II in the 8th century, on a lush hill overlooking the sea. After reaching the luxuriant Colle Bonadies, we will take a short tree-lined path that will lead us to the Castle and we will be able to enjoy its enviable position and visit its interiors while I'll tell you about its secret millenary history. Our full immersion in Salerno history of the city will continue by visiting its chareacteristic city center with its typical narrow alley and its amazing cathedral with its enchanting baroque crypt. If you are in my town you cannot miss this tour!
After meeting at the agreed point, the tour will unwrap as follows: First step of the tour: -By my own car or by private taxi if you are more than two people we will reach the hill on which the Arechi Castle stands (approx 10/15 min). - Short walk around the castle to enjoy greenery and the panoramic views. - Visit the interior of the castle as well as a small museum Second step of the tour: - By taxi we will go back to the Historical center of Salerno. - Walk through the alleys of the historical centre. - Visit the Cathedral of the city and its crypt with a bronze statue and the relics of Saint Matthew.
