Are you ready to explore the most beautiful destinations in Campania and all along the Amalfi Coast, learning about our ancient culture and savoring our beloved cuisine? Southern Italy is the ideal place to relax and recharge your body and soul, without sacrificing any fun! We have it all — history, art, nature, tradition, amazing views, a relaxing daily life and, above all, wonderful local food. My name is Michael and I am an Amalfi-based tour guide. I run tours for individuals, families, and small groups incorporating my passion for art, history and the old traditions. I can also share anecdotes from travelers of the Grand Tour and gossip about the movie stars and film directors of la dolce vita, who were drawn in by the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. I would love to show you our hidden treasures — the atmospheric alleys and squares, soaring churches and cloisters, inspiring archeological sites, and fragrant lemon gardens — all the quirky details that make a tour on the Amalfi Coast memorable. You will enjoy the magical towns of Positano, Amalfi and Ravello, the daily bustling atmosphere of Naples, the fascinating history of Pompeii and Herculaneum, the stunning beauty of Capri and Sorrento, the breath-taking landscapes of Path of Gods (il Sentiero degli Dei) or the Valley of the Mills (La Valle Dei Mulini), and more. I was born in Amalfi and still live among the lemon groves, many steps from the main piazza. After earning my high school diploma at the Technical Institute for Tourism "Flavio Gioia" of Amalfi, I graduated from the University "Istituto L'Orientale" in Naples with a degree in English Language and Literature I studied fine arts, history, archeology and local traditions at the University, as well as at the Center of Culture and History of Amalfi. In 1995 I took part in the publication of two guidebooks to Amalfi Coast. A few years later I got my license to be a certified tour guide for the Campania Region. Because I was born and raised here, I love to take guests off the beaten track to discover some of the little known but authentic places of Amalfi Coast, towns like Minori, Tramonti, Scala, and Pastena, to name a few. I take great joy in organizing walking or trekking tour among terraced lemon groves, vineyards, and olive and chestnut groves. All of my tours can be customized to your interests and curiosities. My goal is to make your guided tour the most enjoyable it can be. Join me in a unique opportunity to live an unusual experience, basking in the glories of the Amalfi Coast! Amalfi Coast, from Salerno to Positano, is a sinuous balcony suspended between cobalt blue sea and green terraces with lemons, vines and olive trees. Would you join me? We will drive first to Amalfi, my lifelong home. Strolling through quiet lanes and hidden squares of old town, we will marvel at Saint Andrew's Cathedral, the Cloister of Paradise and Crypt. A 30 mins drive will take us to Ravello, known for its lush gardens. Its charming Piazza Vescovado, Saint Pantaleone church and ancient Villa Rufolo, are a nexus of art and nature featuring stunning views of surrounding countryside and of the sea. Gore Vidal knew it! As an alternative of Ravello, we could drive to Positano, the "vertical town" with coloured houses built on steep terraces sprawling down to the beach and connected by tiny streets and long stairways. John Steinbeck was fascinated by its wild glamour. The tales, anecdotes, and legends I will share coupled with our traditions and local flavours will make your visit a memorable experience!
We will meet at your chosen meeting location in Salerno (at the Cruise Ship Port or your hotel), or in Amalfi, or Positano. During our day trip you will experience: - The view over the Bay of Salerno from Capodorso In Amalfi: - The charming old lanes of the town's historic center - Saint Andrew's Cathedral and Crypt - Cloister of Paradise and Diocesan Museum - Hidden medieval squares - View from lemon terraces overlooking the Bay of Amalfi - Limoncello tasting - Hand-made paper gallery In Ravello: - The Old Square - Saint Pantaleone Church - Villa Rufolo and the view of the Amalfi Coast - If you like, lunch with our divine food in a local restaurant in Scala, overlooking Ravello. In Positano (as an alternative to Ravello): - Fashionable shops featuring Positano's noted beachwear - Holy Mary church - The beach and fisherman docks - Stunning views of the "vertical town" This tour can be customized according to your preferences or other requests, and for more people with a different price.
