Mountains, lakes and coastal scenery with mystical stone circles, waterfalls, castle ruins, sandy beaches and colourful villages. Beara has it all! Beara is the peninsula situated across the bay from the famous Ring of Kerry. No coach tours visit this stunning scenery due to its narrow roads, so it's perfect for your private tour. This tour is perfect for those who want to escape the busy tourist areas and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of an unspoiled natural landscape. The peninsula is very sparsely populated with very small, pretty, quaint, and colourful villages.
Travel towards Kenmare via the lakes of Killarney, driving through the Killarney National Park. Visit Uragh Stone Circle before making our way up the Healy Pass. Optional stop in Castltownbere and see the remains of Dunboy Castle, once the stronghold of the O Sullivan clan, passing by Puxley Castle. Continue to Allihies and stop for lunch at the local pub. Option to visit the Copper Mines Museum. This would be of special interest to people from Butte, Montana. After lunch, continue around the northern coast of Beara, returning towards Kenmare. The afternoon will be a continuation of spectacular scenery.
