The Cliffs of Moher are Ireland's number one tourist attraction. Their breathtaking beauty does not stop with the cliffs but continues to the surrounding area known as the Burren, a UNESCO geopark. Your knowledgeable guide will tell you all the stories of the landscape and explain how this area came to be created millions of years ago. Cross the Shannon estuary by ferry to the county of Clare and the famous cliffs of Moher. Visit the Burren National Park, which is a very different lunar-type landscape.
Mary was an amazingly informative tour guide! She was flexible with us regarding our departure time, shared local stories and facts, stopped at additional sites, including a tasty lunch and a visit to St. Brigid's well, and gave us plenty of time to explore the breathtaking Cliffs. She is a confident driver who saved us much stress and bother of trying to drive ourselves. Having Mary really allowed us to enjoy the sites fully. I recommend her fully!
Mary was a fabulous and well informed guide. I gave her a particular challenge-get us from Killarney to Galway with sites along the way! Mary was well prepared and flexible in her planning. She knew loads about the region and shared history and trivia along the way. She was an impeccable driver and whether we were in pouring rain, windy road or busy traffic, her driving was perfect as she continued to share information and chat. She even recited Yates as we drove through the Buren! A truly great day!
Mary was very accommodating to begin 30 min earlier than reserved. She drives a very nice car and kept us safe on the narrow roads around Dingle. Mary was delightful with knowledge of the culture, education and history of Ireland, specifically the Counties Kerry and Clare. Her enthusiasm and passion for sharing her country with us was obvious. One of our stops was at a very interesting shrine that large groups cannot see. We feel we've made a lifelong friend.
-From Killarney we will travel towards the river Shannon which we will cross by ferry and maybe see some dolphins. -This short ferry journey will bring us directly to county Clare where we will travel north through seaside villages and the famous 'Lahinch golf links' and finally to the cliffs of moher, 720 ft high and the second most visited attraction in Ireland! --After our visit to the cliffs we will journey through The Burren National Park, an area of great beauty dominated by glaciated karst landscape, unique to Ireland with lots of rare orchids and plants. -We will return to Killarney via Limerick and the pretty thatched village of Adare. Option to visit fifteenth century Bunratty Castle and Folk-park en route. Option to be dropped off in Galway. This tour as a whole or partially, can be customized to fit your preferences - please inquire!
