Your are most welcome to Ireland . I was raised on the world Famous Ring of Kerry , our family front door, overlooks the Skellig (Star Wars) in the Wild Atlantic Way . Our next city was New York or so they say . I qualified as a Montessori teacher and now hold a degree in Early Childhood Care and Education. Having worked for over 30 years in the Childcare profession. I am a qualified professional driver and an approved tour guide . I now want to share this great country with fellow travelers, from all over the world . During a guided tour with me, you can expect to share a brief history of this land . Observe the Natural History , the shape of the countryside along the Wild Atlantic Way and Ancient East of Ireland . We will visit country houses such as Muckross House and the wonderful gardens like Powerscourt . A visit to Ireland would not be complete without exploring many of its historic ruins . Last but not least enjoy the taste of Ireland from land and sea . I am a fluent speaker and teacher of the Gaelic Language , qualified in arts and crafts , knitting is my preferred craft and if you would like to learn the basic knitting stitches on tour, please let me know . We really enjoyed our visit to Cobh, and Blarney Castle. Our guide Ann, was so informative and kind. One of the things we enjoy best about Tours by Locals is meeting people and hearing all of their background and stories about the places we travel.
Annie was a wonderful tour guide. She tailored the tour to our interests which consisted of a visit to Blarney and a tour of Jameson. She made sure we arrived at Blarney Castle ahead of the buses. She was very knowledgeable, and we learned much about Cobh. Throughout the day, we did everything we had hoped to do, including a last minute visit to St. Colman's and a drive through the town. We couldn't have asked for a better tour guide, and we highly, highly recommend Annie for a tour.
We took a private tour with Annie O' Dowd on August 18th, 2023. Let me premise the review by saying the weather that day was dreadful! But Annie did everything to still make our day amazing! From getting us out of there asap to beat all the giant tour busses to Blarney, arranging for a last minute lunch at an amazing restaurant, and getting us in a last second tasting at the Jameson distillery, Annie went above and beyond to make sure we had a spectacular day. We highly recommend TBL, and Annie!
Anne was just the best guide. She worked so hard to get us to see what we wanted to see in the limited time we had. She was definitely amazing and made our short amount of time the best it could be. She knew what we wanted to see, and still have time for some shopping and she made it all happen for us. We love Anne and will choose her again if we are ever in town.
Annie is AMAZING, kind & very accommodating! Our ship arrival was 11:00am which made it difficult to find a guide to accommodate a group (6) for the Blarney Castle & Jameson Distillery tour. But, Annie made it happen! She promptly arrived at ship terminal in a clean Mercedes van- got us to Castle before the tour buses arrived-we had time to tour, Kiss the Stone, walk the gardens, take photos & shop. Educating us and answering questions along the way, she got us to our Jameson Tour & back to ship on time.
