My name is Paudie and I am a private tour guide and driver. Every day when I am commencing a tour, my aim is to ensure that each and every one of my guests really enjoys their time spent with me and that they leave having experienced our wonderful Irish culture, learnt about our rich history and visited our well known and not so well known off the beaten path special places and go home with fantastic memories of their holiday in Ireland. I was born and reared on the Ring of Kerry and I spent thirty two years serving as a policeman in Cork, Limerick and Kerry. I have been operating as a private tour guide and driver since 2014 and I thoroughly enjoy my new career, sharing my indepth knowledge of my home county of Kerry and surrounding counties and my love for all things Irish including our Gaelic heritage and rich history, the very beautiful Irish countryside with it's spectacular scenery, Irish music, wildlife, our environment, farming, fishing, and sport, with all of my guests. I design my tours to meet with the individual interests of my guests. I believe it is important that my tours are not rushed and that everyone has plenty of time to experience the outstanding vistas that are around every corner. I have a warm and friendly disposition, am relaxed and easygoing and my guests can be assured that they are in safe hands. I have a series of tours including Ring of Kerry and Skellig Ring, Dingle Peninsula and Slea Head, Ring of Beara, Cliffs of Moher and the Burren, Gouganbarra and Garnish Island, a number of Shore Excursion Tours with a selection of stops such as Blarney Castle, Kinsale, Old English Market in Cork, Middleton Distillery, Ballymaloe House, Rock of Cashel and Cahir Castle. Of course, I also design tours based on specific individual requirements. My vehicle is a new Mercedes V Class luxury vehicle which can accommodate six guests very comfortably and is spacious, comfortable and ideal for touring. The layout of my vehicle is one captain's chair in the front of the vehicle, two captain's chairs in the middle and three seats at the back of the vehicle. I can take you to those off the beaten path special places where the larger tours cannot access. On my tours, I engage with the locals as I believe this makes the experience really authentic for guests. My interests are rugby, gaelic football, travel, fishing, reading, history, wildlife and photography. If you want a Tour by a Local, look no further, I am your man. * Experienced professional driver and tour guide. * A retired police officer having served thirty two years as a member of An Garda Siochana. * Holder of Small Public Service Vehicles (SPSV) Driver and Vehicle Licences from Irish National Transport Authority. * Member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM). * A trained Auxiliary Fire Officer with the Irish Civil Defence Force. - Published tours maximum six guests - I am not restricted access to any historical or heritage sites in Ireland. We will visit the historic Blarney Castle near Cork City most famous for the Blarney Stone. According to folklore, the stone has the power to give anyone who kisses it the 'gift of the gab' (a great talker). Take a stroll through the Blarney Castle Gardens. In springtime, the castle grounds are filled with thousands of flower bulbs and the 'Belgian Beds' are covered with hybrid azaleas in full flower. In autumn, the landscaped arboretum glows as the leaves of the trees turn red, amber and gold. We will then visit the historic Blarney Woollen Mills which was built in 1823. The mill was used mainly for spinning and weaving wool and is now an Irish heritage store where you can do some shopping. We will then drive to Kinsale where our first stop will be Charles Fort and they you can have a light lunch or refreshments in one of the many restaurants or pubs in the town. Then stroll around the beautiful quaint Kinsale streets with its galleries and craft shops before heading back to Cobh for a walkabout.
