Namaste! I am Deepesh. I was born and brought up in the land that is well quoted as "The Queen of Hills" and "The Land of Sheer Adventure" - Darjeeling ! also a brand name for the finest quality tea it produces and which is much priced and cherished by the tea-lovers' across the globe. Since the early days of my childhood, I was in deep love with the white mountains and would love to get lost into the nature with my friends. By the end of my higher education I also got myself trained and certified in mountaineer from the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling and worked as a professional climbing guide for five years. During my guiding carrier, I would also love to share the simple yet challenging lifestyle and the cultural beliefs of the Himalayan people, and also could learn many interesting things from my guests who would be coming from different parts of the world. That's how I was more attracted to the tourism profession and also got myself in leading cultural tours. Now, I am an approved tourist guide by the Department of Tourism, Darjeeling, West Bengal and for the last 18 years I am leading organized cultural tours and adventure trips for the European and Asian tourists visiting my region i. e, Darjeeling, Sikkim and North-east India. During my tours, I involve my guests in experiential activities such as visit to a local village and interact with the locals, participating in their field activities and enjoying their local food. This, as a reward is enjoyed and appreciated by my clients with profound merits. My passion for the the mountains and my years of experience, makes me well qualified for planning and delivering a suitable holiday trip to quench the inner spirit of a traveler longing to visit and explore this "Intrepid - Himalaya". * Certified mountaineer from Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling. * Approved tourist guide by the Department of Tourism. * 18 years of experience in leading cultural tours and adventure trips. * I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Overview of your Darjeeling tour

On this day tour, I will take you for a Toy train joy ride. This 125years old and UNESCO World Heritage site train will take us for a ride around the picturesque Batasia Loop with a short stoppage for photography of the beautiful tea garden landscape with the backdrop of Mt. Kunchenjungha. The next stop is at Ghoom Station where the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway had its tracks laid back in 1879 and reached Ghoom by 1881. This is home to the highest railway station in India (7, 407 ft) and the joy of riding in a vista dome powered by the steam engine is a must! You will also be taken to the Museum of the station. In Ghoom we also visit one of the oldest Buddhist Monastery. On our return, we stop at Batasia for a lunch break at a local restaurant. Then we visit a tea plantation and witness the making of the world-acclaimed Darjeeling tea. Evening hi-tea is in one of the iconic restaurants in town and end the day strolling along the Observatory hill area. Welcome to my home!
