Hello! My name is Katerina and I live with my family on Spetses island. I love long walks, cooking, and any kind of art. I Studied Tourism Management at the University of West Attica and I have been working in Tourism Industry for more than 7 years. I was always passionate about the history of Spetses island. After studying books, receiving knowledge from old local people by sharing their stories, and exploring the hidden gems of the island, I decided to share all those beautiful things from my point of view. Some people claim that the name "Spetses" comes from the Italian "Isola di Spezia" - (The island of perfumes). Together we can explore this fragrant place and give you a taste of a local experience. I would be more than excited to introduce you the heroes of this place, storytelling you about its development and how this island is strongly connected with art and culture. We can also taste together greek authentic local delicacies and learn everything about them. •Tourism Management Degree - University of West Attica •English- Proficiency ECPE Michigan Certificate •Russian- A2 Certificate "МГУ имени М.В. Ломоносова" •French - A1 DELF Certificate I am not a licensed guide I can only offer walking tours

On Spetses island, locals usually start their day in "Ntapia" area, having a coffee before going to work. "Ntapia" or "horseshoe" -this is what locals call it due to its shape!- is the center of Spetses Island. It used to be a meeting point for lords and captains during the period of the Greek Revolution of 1821. Today it is the favorite place of locals and travelers. It is also my favorite area to walk; no matter how many years I have had this habit, I am always enchanted by its simple beauty. The most amazing thing is how much history can a small place can hide! During this tour, we will: 1)Learn about local historical personalities and facts, such as: -Laskarina Bouboulina and her role during the Greek War of Independence of 1821 -Sotirios Anargiros - the benefactor of the island and how his actions developed his homeland. 2)Taste: - "Amygdaloto", the local traditional dessert of Spetses. Why is it so special and what is the recipe? - Greek coffee and traditional delicacies as a local does!
✓We will start from the meeting point, at Poseidonion Square, under Bouboulina's Statue. -There, we are going to stay for a while and learn about her life and her big offer during the Greek War of Independence, 1821. -Learn about the great building of the Posedonion Grand Hotel. -Then, we will walk to the statue of Sotirios Anargiros (The benefactor of Spetses) and will see his manor house from the outside. ✓After that, we will enjoy greek coffee, "amygdaloto" local dessert and a greek traditional dessert of the day (galaktoboureko or baklavas or kantaifi or similar), at a lovely local pastry shop! **Please message me in case there are any allergies or other food restrictions** Our tour will end some meters from our meeting point, where you can either stay and enjoy the view or enjoy walking. The itinerary is flexible, for any changes please let me know.
