My hometown Kalamata belongs to the region of Peloponnese. The Peloponnese has so many beautiful things to see. All the ancients cities are around, like the Ancient Messene, Mystras, Olympia, and more. For those who prefer nature, the Peloponnese is full of hidden caves, Diro's Caves in Mani, and waterfalls like Polylimnio. Hidden beaches are all over Kalamata also. I can take you to swim and sightsee in the most famous and beautiful ones. I know all the secrets and the hidden beauties and I look forward to show them to you! I am not a licensed guide and will not be able to guide you inside of the historical monuments.

Overview of your Sparta tour

Walking around the cobbled streets you will get acquainted to the history of this city that was founded by the Byzantine emperor, and all its consequent rulers: The Pope, the Franks, the Venetians and the Ottomans. You will learn everything about its significant port that made Monemvasia one of the richest and most cosmopolitan towns of the Mediterranean and the wine produced there, that made it famous all over Europe. You will not miss the chance to visit some of the castle's 46 churches. After your walk around the Lower town, you can make your way up to the archaeological site of the Upper town on top of the rock. There, you will have the opportunity to stroll in between the ruined houses on your way to Haghia Sophia, an 11th century church perched on the edge of the cliff and enjoy the panoramic views towards the mainland and the magnificent blue of the Aegean Sea.

Outstanding! We booked Telia again since we were so happy with our first tour. We started to explore Monemvasia with guide Theano (who was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the site and it's history), but the weather did not cooperate and the downpour turned the narrow stone-paved streets into rivers, so Telia came to the rescue with an alternate plan and we visited a typical Greek town and enjoyed the buildings, shops, restaurants, and local life. We loved every minute spent with her!!!

Aristoteleia is not a licensed tour guide so she operates differently. Since she cannot go into tour sites, she arranges for a local to conduct the tour. The guide she chose for the Monevasia tour could not have been better. She was part of the excavation of the city so was giving us numerous personal insights enriching the tour in perfect English. "Lelia" arrived with a great van in an enthusiastic, positive, and endearing manner to drive us to/from the site from our ship providing context as she went.
