Sparta and Mystras offers a 'laconic' journey throughout Greek history. Let me travel back in time with you! I really enjoy sharing my passion for the history of our ancient cities! The Acropolis of Ancient Sparta and its monuments, are still standing there from the sixth century BC, in defiance of all the centuries that gone by. Mystras' historical importance is tremendous. In my primary school, every time we had a history lesson about Byzantium, the teachers organised a school trip to the neighbouring Mystras castle town, an hour's drive from the city where I grew up (Kalamata). I've been giving this tour since 2014, and each time I feel like I'm traveling back in time. Follow me on an adventure to Sparta and Mystras, to feel like the knights and damsels of our childhood. This trip is ideal for travelers coming by cruise ships for few hours.
Our family of four had a perfect day trip excursion with Aristoteleia! She did a great job explaining the sites and letting us know what to expect. She fit in even more than we thought we could for the day and made sure we ended the day with the perfect spot for lunch with an amazing view. We will gladly recommend her to our friends and family visiting the area.
Teleia is a great guide. We rate her a 6 on a scale of 5. Truly outstanding. Hire her as a guide anywhere she guides and she will give you a great tour. The tour to Monemvasia was outstanding although it was somewhat tasking due to the incline of the paths and the steps. I'm 86 and I made it, you can too and it is worthwhile.
This was a great tour. We enjoyed the knowledge of the archeologists and the information of about the early days of Sparta and how it relates to the city today. The lunch stop at the mountain was really a great introduction to the local life of the area and the food was outstanding. The stop at the Olive Museum was most interesting to everyone on the tour. The drive from the port to Sparta was also very smooth and the countryside very interesting.
We are family of four with two teenage daughters. Our tour guide Aristoteleia on time & was excellent . She explained the relevant historic details to keep all of us interested. She also gave us enough time to look around always gave a hand in the photographs. This tour usually starts from Kalamata , but we started in Sparta , hence there was additional time which was well used as we were also able to visit Mystras monastery. Overall the tour was highly satisfactory.
She is an excellent guide. Knowledgeable, interesting, and very entertaining. We highly recommend her.
